- My advice would be: Don't go to America, Polish girlfriend. If you are a sensitive person and dont close your senses to the world around you, then you will experience Polonophobia as you have never experienced before, pourng forth from the American customs, from the media, from your neighbours, from Thirld World shop assistants, from American customs... you name it.

In fact, the American government's refusal to cancel the visa requirement for the Poles is just a sample of the Polonophobia and contempt for the Poles (including so-called Polish Americans).

Stay in Poland girl and forget America. It's not - especially nowadays - any heaven on earth. And Poland will be a great place to live yet. If your alleged boyfriend really loves you, let him live with you in Poland.

Umm... Who are you talking to? The Polish girlfriend never even posted... it was her boyfriend asking. Polonphobia in the media and customs... right...

Come on Puzz.... Why do you say that? Everyone can have a different experience here. My GF just came to stay with me in NJ and she didn't experience any of these things. She had a fantastic time. Customs didn't even give her a problem. I say not true for all except the media because I don't have paparazi following me around ...... yet ;)

She was surprised how there was no polonophobia. She experienced more of that whilst getting her education in Scotland.


It is what you make of it. We went from NYC to Niagara Falls to the Outer Banks in North Carolina...and that was heaven.

No, I agree that America is not heaven on earth but is it not true to say that there are one and a half million Poles in Chicago alone? There must be something there for the Poles for there to be so many. If he wants to stay in Poland so be it but he will have language problems (perhaps) and where is he going to earn his money, except for teaching English? Otherwise, the Polish themselves will take first place in the queue for available posts. I agree that if you really get on with someone and 'love is in the air', then I suppose that I could be happy almost anywhere-it is relationships that count at the end of the day.

- You mean that the term 'Thirld World' is called by some 'the South'? What do I care about the art of terming terms? But if you mean that the term 'Thirld World' has been replaced by some with the term 'the South,' then I'd say that the replecement hasn't been too fortunate one. E.g. would you call the Chinese 'southeners'?

Now if the term 'Thirld world' has indeed been replaced with the term 'the South,' then what has the traditional term 'the South' been replaced with?

- Oh, so I have been discriminating against any one? Can you explain against whom and how have I been allegedly discriminatory? - In my post to the Polish girlfriend, I have scribbled the truth, pal. Polish people mean as little as dirt to great many Americans, including Canadians. I lived there for many years and know what I am talking about. The worst expressions of Polonophobia I have encountered in North America. If you are a decent guy - just like e.g. Fisz - then you and other folks like you should honestly admit there's exceptional Polonophobia in America (coming especially from the American Jews) and speak against it whenever you encounter it. Support the Polish people; oppose the hate-mongers as persistently as they spread their hate (also on this forum - re the creep by the nick of 'michal').

To Fisz. - You know I don't have anything against you, Fisz. You're a decent American guy. There are Americans like you too. Besides you're a Native American - a big advantage in my eyes. The German king, Frederick the Great (crap) compared us Poles contemptuously to Native Indians. Unwittingly, the psychopathic monster used the correct comparison. - Yes, we have been treated in Europe like Native Indians by the Pale Faces. well i think it was racist as you were suggesting that every American is going to be hostile towards Polish immigrants, this to me is racism against Americans. And in my opinion it is derogatory to talk about 'third world shop assistants' as you are lumping together all people working in the US who come from less developed countries and implying that they are all shop assistants. Its also implying that a shop assistant is a menial job.

I was merely trying to inform you that the term Third World is no longer deemed socially acceptable. 'The South' is the term used in development circles, in the same way that we used to talk about 'the West' as being the developed world. This doesnt mean that all such countries are southern, but that the majority of the developing countries are situated south of the equator. Personally, I would argue as to whether China falls into this category anyway.

As for my muddled thinking, I take that as a compliment :)

I'm Russian. I lived in Uzbekistan (x-Soviet union Republic). I met my husband on Internet. We had correspondence during 6 months. He wanted to bring me to the U.S. I wrote to him that I have a huge doubt regarding getting the USA tourist visa. I also could not provide the facts confirming my tight connections to Uzbekistan. My husband-to-be (at that time) decided to visit me and get married in Uzbekistan. It was right after 9/11/2001. I could not believe he will come to me. But we did it. We got married in Uzbekistan. Then he left, and I continued waiting for my visa as his wife. They could not keep me in there when I became a spouse of American Citizen. We are together for 6 years, and we are very happy.
I wish everybody in the world to be happy! And I cannot understand why somebody (Immigration Officer or Consular Officer) has authority to make decision for you.
You have to fight for your happiness! My advice to you: just go there and marry your sweetheart!

My advice is DON'T DO IT! 95% chance that she will leave you for someone with a little more money - and it won't be hard for her!!! Polish girls are beautiful compared to our USA counterparts and she will be getting hit on everywhere.

They didnt cancel it for us Brits too.
And i didnt hear any anti british ranting when i was there.

there are plenty of women of different nationalities here in the states that are very pretty.
beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
personally i dont find that polish women are as hot as you say.
