Advice about rent settlement with landlord????

Hi im a student on flathunting
and just wondering the possibilities of asking for less flatrent at least one month in the summer, say, july? Anyone do that, or know someone who has such an arrangement? what if you ask the landlord if it could be possible if you sign a long term contract for 2-3 years and ask for it then?

Well i can only give you some advie from over here in england, if your renting a student property it is normaly standard to get 3 months at half price.
Also wit6h regards to a long term contract.. do not forget things change and maybe in a year you want to move out, but can't due to contract.
i signed a 2 year contract on a property and when me and my partner split i moved out and got a massive bill!.....
if you find a cool landlord the best you can do is ask him/her!

Offering discounts is not something that comes into the average Polish landlord's thinking. Signing a longer contract maybe attractive to them but dont expect the rent not to go up during the term, or to have security just because youve signed a contract

Yes, this is possible in Poland.
We have used such an agreement with our clients in Krakow who are medical students from Norway. They study for the period from Oct 1st - June 30th, and then go home for the months of July, August, September.
The normal agreement here in Krakow is that if the student wants to stay on for the next academic year, then they pay the landlord half the monthly rent for the summer months while they are away (plus admin + bills).
Some landlords in Krakow also like having an apartment empty over the summer months, as if it is suitable, it can be used for tourist accommodation during the busiest months

Thanks for telling me, then maybe Ill try to ask for this arrangement in Warsaw. :-) Btw do you know any good real estate agents for someone like me in warsaw, im also a foreign student and speak poorly, but little polish.
