You may not know "wage" means "weekly payment" while "salary" means "montly payment".
Either way, not sure why you refer to "most poles" when we talk about Warsaw (Mazowieckie area). On average, Poles earn more and more each year so what you might have been reading a year ago is not true today.
Here is a recent table of average earnings of Poles in the different regions of Poland - in the Mazowieckie area an average salary is 3,450 Zlotych (I believe it's before taxes; after taxes it should be about 3,000). Also note that people who work in Warsaw city probably earn about 10-25% more than those who work in the other regions of the "Mazowieckie area".
