I was born and raised in Wroclaw, now I live on the US. Welcome!!!

Alexandra, good to have you, my original reasons for finding such forums was
genealogy and my roots to Poland. all grandparents all polish and both parents.

mine immigrated to the USA between 1901 and 1914.

I also want to extend my help to you here, i have ancestry.com for a few more
months and plan to renew my subscription for future use. I can find cencus,
immigration, messages. and also sometimes with luck and lots of clues family
still located in same area the immigrated to.

so if you need any help here in the united states let me know, I will be happy to
help

alexandra, what are you looking for? what surnames? are they in the US , or were
you just surfing?

Thanks for your offer of help. My ancestors didn't migrate to the US and my roots remained here in Poland and now Ukraine. However I noticed that many of you would like to get to know something about Poland and find your roots so I'm trying to give some information from the first hand. If you have any problems I will be happy to help.

well , my delimma is getting records from Osiek.

All I want is copies of the records of all the same name. lol which is alot.

but I dont know if they microfilmed these. is there a way to find out ?

last I checked, they didnt , but they could have by now and just not put the
index online as of yet.

Polish state archives have data base called Pradziad.

baza.archiwa.gov.pl/sezam/pradziad.eng.php

Here you will find out what records they have in which archive they are and whether they are microfilmed or not.
I checked for "Osiek" and there is a lot of information so see by yourself.

OMG.

lol, ok it asks for town before the war, I want to narrow it down.
That part I know is osiek, but I do know that there was more then one town
called Osiek.

ours was located near Oswiecim.

So, you have to know which Osiek. How can I know that?
If your town was located near Oświecim, check on the map where exactely it is and go to Pradziad. It isn't written only "Osiek" but also which district etc.

well, it brings up nothing as I thought.

but I do see some other films for another town .
