Regarding graphical smiles, they are gone. This website is currently visited by over 7,000 visitors a day and while we appreciate constructive feedback, it is not possible to satisfy all users. But we try to make most of them as happy as possible.

Ok so as long as its just a few complaining, then it doesnt matter? Considering you were deleting someones posts earlier because all they were doing was asking for translations, I thought you would have wanted to keep the regular talkers happy because they are following your commandments. I know you dont particuraly like me but everyone else in this thread that has complained is a frequent talker.

If it didn't matter, this thread would have been closed a long time ago. That would be easiest for us, wouldn't it.

If the posts that don't meet certain rules were ignored, I'm sure you'd be the first one to complain "You edit my post, but why don't you edit theirs?". Please don't try to play the devil's advocate.

there are no personal considerations taken into it. you dont know me and i dont know you - really, this is true of most of us here. that is why rules need to be followed to try and maintain it. and we appreciate your help in pointing out topics and posts that break forum rules and etiquette. as you like the forum you would want to preserve the reason you came here originally too. Admin I didnt say you did anything wrong by deleting them, I merely pointed out that when people are doing this, surely you should want to keep the people who arent doing this happy? or maybe not

If you observe the posts more carefully you will notice I take my time to personally explain the rules when a new member incorrectly posts his/her first, second, or third post (and make the corrections).

But when, in spite of this, the member creates his/her 4th or 10th message as if he/she hasn't even bother to read the instructions, I don't find any other ways of explaining there was something wrong with the post.

Jest teraz. I didnt say anything about why did u do this, or that you did it wrong. I was just saying that there are people doing this and there are also people in this thread who are asking for something back, that are following all your rules. So i thought maybe a reward was in order.

that are following all your rules

The rules are not here because I or other admin or moderators love living by the rules. It is a hard job to moderate an active forum like this; but without the rules it would be even harder [but then the forum would not become active, I think].

In the real life I personally do not like strict rules. But as far as an online forum is concerned, without the specific rules that are actually executed there is no way of creating a successful community. Could you point to a successful online forum that has no rules or rules are weak?

You say you are a teacher. When you have 20 students in class, do you allow each of them do what they please? When two of your students want to go for a smoke during the class, would you consent to that? Or if they felt like eating lunch when you try to discuss the English grammar - would that be OK with you?

Now compare that to hundreds or thousands of active members. Without the rules there would be no way of creating a community (of students or people in general).

Well personally I dont have to worry about that because they pay to be there so they behave well. Please dont get any ideas about making us pay to be here though:)

well that arguement still doesnt get anywhere as, 700 paying are better than 7000 not, financially speaking but you and i both now it was a flipant remark to a flipant remark.
