Altough I fully agree with the first part of what you wrote I beg to differ on the 2nd. From my pov the Polish govt.'s attitude towards the USA is overwhelmingly positive but that of the people is rather mixed and gets worse as time goes by.

I stand correct. :) As for the attitude getting worse, probably you’re right. I think it's due to the increase of positive attitude towards the EU. Once Poland will reach the economical level of the west it will start to perceive USA as competitor and the attitude of Poles towards your country will be most likely close to those of western Europeans.

No, not at all! I'm just talking from my experiences. It's perfectly reasonable you had others & the truth is probably in the middle :)

One thing is for sure, the general attitude in Europe is getting worse, but that has more to do with the European hatred for Bush than anything else.

I read the other day that Bush has an approval rating of 28% in his country. That's the lowest a US president ever had.. Even Nixon was more popular lol..

America & Poland are natural friends...unfortunately, American Poles are a quiet people
& sometimes too conservative in promoting their culture/ideas...we need much more
networking between young Polish-Americans & Poles for the exchange of ideas & information...the American government is a different story...the corruption is so deep that it will take quite a few years to reverse/eliminate the organized criminal elements
that control American society today...many of these elements also tortured the Polish
nation for many decades...but, as I said, we must network & exchange ideas, especially
about music, art, technology, everything!

So Sparrow, please remind the anti-American ppl that you meet that "we don't necessarily like him or had voted for him". Remember the "hanging chad" ballot controversy in the Florida election? Some of us really wanted a recount! :)

Lets see I am in USA and Polish. Yes I would say out of all the countries Poland is our best friend. Maybe Russia will understand soon that the poles he displaced are all over this world now and don't appreciate the way they push our Polish families around. Yes we were deported but Poland is our blood. We are watching your back. USA

One thing I have never been called is "quiet". My grandfather was always into political issues and lived his life in the USA educating many on history of Poland. I think this all depends on what part of USA you are in.

Democrats of America are what this country is built on. Not old money but earned money.
