I feel your pain, but as they say no pain no gain , here is an idea , double your work hours ,save as much money as you can , if i understood you're a colledge graduate? Apply for immigration to canada, it's a great country almost like the USA, you might have to go back home to get your visa , but it's worth it , you could be waiting here for all your life , unless there is an amnesty and you're qualified , you're stuck , and life is too short to be wasting it waiting. One more idea? The European Union ,it is the first world right now the economy is blossoming overthere while America is falling behind with big defecit and low dollar value. It's a big decision , u will win your family back as long as a secure income for your plans for the future.

Hi there, thank you for advices... I know that word is there with hundreds different places but I have already found the one I would like to belong to. I don't want to live anywhere else and money is not a subject. It is not all about making money. It is all about life...

Hi Marcin, somebody has mentioned about amnesty before. Do you know something more about it?

It is not going to be amnesty but oportunity to get legal being in US. It will be long period of time when You can earn Your green card or whatever. You gonna ned to stay on the right side of the law, pay big enough amount of taxes and stay in US couple years. This is what You all people call amnesty. I saw discussion about this on AlaskaOne TV channel.

I'm not gonna wait untill "amnesty" comes out. I'm looking for somebody to get marryed with.

yes, Stillborn the woman of your dreams is here on the forums... lol. stillborn why are you in a rush to get married? and you'll do alot better if you get off the computer and go out . she'll even speak your language just as well as you can and she'll have a green card and its alot less paperwork. i'm not saying not to marry a polish girl but you shouldn't limit yourself to just forigeners and in Alaska you already have a severe lack of options for girls and if you say "polish girls are much better than the girls here" you're wrong, they have good and bad ones just like we have here.

and Nata i hope you find what you're looking for i have a friend from poland who is tring very hard to stay here in the US. however marrage isn't an option for her so i understand how badly you want to stay here. i wish you the best and i hope everything works out the way you want it to.

Stillborn you are looking to commit fraud, and that is illegal. Any marriage you have will be seen for the sham it is. Get a life.

Well, it is "illegal" in some politicians' view. They also say abortion is "legal" - so stillborn - I wouldn't worry about that.

Attention Legal, you do not know the laws of the USA so I suggest you just shut the hell up. The politicians do not control what the INS does when you have your interview with them. Now stop offering advice you know nothing about.

I wouldn't trust somebody who is not taking risk at all. It goes for both sides. One is making payments other is receiving them and some other benefits...

Both are breaking the law!

Is there criminal punishment for doing this? Does the American have to pay in some way if they are caught?

Maybe a fine. I really doubt that jail time would be recommended.

Yeah, it would probably be hard to prosecute since the marriage is legal on paper. If they're going to prosecute people for getting married for all the wrong reasons, they would have to prosecute a lot of people.

Marriage fraud is a serious crime. Participants may think their single fraudulent marriage will not be discovered, but by committing this crime, they face prosecution along with the larger ring. In previously prosecuted marriage fraud cases, individuals were sentenced up to 5 years in prison and fined as much as $250,000 for involvement in the scheme.
I copied this from an article an FBI agent wrote: http://www.state.gov/m/ds/rls/rm/39620.htm
Don't think I'd want to risk either jail or a fine.

Wow, it really is a crime. What about someone in Nata's case? She's not from a country that is known to harbor terrorists, she's already in the US and she has a job and a life here. I wonder if it would be considered less of a crime for her than the marriage rings that are based in other countries.
