American teen living in Lodz

I'm female, from the states, and 16. Im living with my mother who is working here (in Lodz) for a year. I decided not to go to school here because I don't speak polish and I'm too old to go to the British International School. I am being homeschooled and am living a pretty anti-social life at the moment (which i'm definitely not thriving from). Seeing as that my situation at the moment isn't a happy one, does anyone have any advise as how to meet people my age? Would going to a regular polish highschool here in Lodz be a good idea? any comments appreciated

Try contacting one of the english schools in the area and maybe do some private lessons or something. Get you out and about and meet people who speak english!

I agree with Lukasz. Go to high school even though you don't understand much Polish. When I lived in Poland there was a girl in my high school that came from USA. She didn't speak much Polish but she was the most popular girl there. The teachers knew she was there only temporary - just like you are - and they weren't so strict with here as they were with other students. It would be a good experience for you also because the education system in Poland is different than in the US. They are more strict and stern in Poland. So even if you don't understand anything, you are still home-schooled and you will gain experience of attending a Polish school.
You can write a paper on it later when you get back home.
If you want :)
