Per onet.pl - Golota won, sixth-round technical knockout (I did not watch it as I do not like boxing)

I never knew Golata was Polish. I remember him from several years back, but I don't recall the outcome of the fight I saw. However, it's clear from recent boxing history that eastern European fighters have the talent and the training to win, since we now have heavyweight champs from Russia, the Ukraine and (I think) Belarus here, with Klitschko being IBO champ, and Ibragimov in the WBO, and even a few others I think. Good luck to him, I say. :)

"I never knew Golata was Polish."

You're the only guy who didn't!

Damn - it won't let me post the link here - but if you go to YouTube and search "Golota +McBride" you'll see the end of the fight.

Here's the entire fight:

youtube...

&^%$*! It still won't let me post a link. Search it on Youtube.

Andrew took some very hard punches in round one and he handled them very well and came right back in round two. He'll be our Polish heavyweight champ yet! He has a very good chance against three of the four champs - Maskaev, Ibragamov, and Chagaev (Peter ain't nobody's champ except the Don King boxing gangsters, and best forget about Wlad). Actually Andrew already was the heavyweight champ because he beat Ruiz and Byrd but he was robbed by Don King's judges.

I finally registered!

Poles say Micha³czewski is better but Go³ota had a lot of potential. He was destroyed once or twice but he held his own against Riddick 'Big Daddy' Bowe. That riot was ridiculous

OK. I used to hate Andrew due to his past non-sportsmanship like behavior in the past. After barely finding he was to fight on Jan. 19,2008; I freaked! I was anxious to see a freak show that he is or was to make of his fights for my entertainment. At the end of the fight, I see that indeed he did finally start to behave as a good boxer should be but as many that have commented before, it might be too late. It was a good fight against Mollo and he had th patience to fight all the way through the rounds. Does anybody think he should still fight afterwards because I am a fan of this Polish warrior!

Go³ota got pasted by Brewster and Tyson. Lewis fought him I think, I imagine that one being rather one-sided. The Klitschko's would take him out, as would the other Russians. One of the greatest champions, HO NO
