Anti-Polish sentiment of England

Exactly :) Sad to say a LOT of people in my family are very prejudiced in many ways. Some of them quite racist. None to the point of acting anything out, but to any point is hard to take at times.

I'm happy not to have continued with their opinions as my own.

you know. my grandfather I think was like that because when they arrived in
America, they had so much to deal with then, it was fueled hatred, because they
were struggeling to become a part of the polish community, on top of worry for their
families back in poland, forced integration ( this was planned by local govts too)
with other minority groups such as hungarian, Italian,etc.. which back then were so
seperated.. no one was allowed to mix and marry ( hungarian with Polish) etc.

so when my dad was born, by then it eased up a bit, but then they dealt with
a new onset of problems involving the communities.. and it was more of a rich vs
poor. how much money do you have type of problems..

and the kids from my fathers neighborhood all were clothed the best they could.
they didnt have the money and saved what money they had/made and the
economy just crashed.

then me growing up. my dad would say things, but I would just look at him like thats
not very nice of you to say, ( but never said it out loud to him or risk getting my dupa
kicked ) LOL...

when answering a thread I would advise reading it first especially though who you insult. One I don't think he is Polish and two whether his racist or not is not obvious. Again, what constitutes a racist?

I must honestly say, from my own long experience, that the English are among the very best nicest people I've ever met. Kind and good-hearted beyond measure. Often a bit rough on the surface, but it's just a defense mechanism; once they get to know you and see you're on the same wavelength as them, they open up to you and you see so much sweetness and gentleness you may feel overwhelmed. Such are really those allegedly arrogant English. Yes, many foreigners seem to take this perfunctory raughness for arrogance, but it's a mistake on their part. I think the English should not be called 'limeys' but 'pineapples:' rough surface and lots of sweetness underneath.

I have similar warm feelings towards the Irish, but it's another story.

Alot of people are against everyone in england, not just poland.

Thats minority though. Most english will question it at first, but once you know them it'll be like your their best friend.

er,yes,when most of the signaturies to the declaration of independance were british born, the fact that english not spannish or french is spoken as americas "first" language,that all major holidays spring from ties to britain, ie Thanksgiving,british colonists meet redskins,dont shoot them but eat turkey etc etc

My daughter got herself a new boyfriend a few months ago. He's Polish and he tried to get here to like disco-polo. She laughed, the boy no longer listens to that piece of ^&%%$#. I'm proud of my her :)

Now they listen to the like of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and similar.

How can one be anti-disco-polo? It's comedy at it's best. :)
