My personal reasons are rooted in facts here r ur facts! My mother used to work in a hospital as a staff nurse before she moved up in the union. She saw illegals run up hospital bills in excess of 100,000$!!! Who pays those? The american tax payer! My father has lobbyied for CCPOA union!!!! Guess who CCPOA is partnered with??????? LA RAZA! I live in one of the most ethnically diverse areas of Los Angeles. A few blocks from Compton a few blocks from the barrio. I see everyday the positive element that immigrants bring to this country and to themselves. I strongly support immigrant business (evenly with American businesses). If I don't know what I'm talking about I'm not sure how.

I am struggling to understand your argument. You said that illegals throw all their money back to Mexico and that is patenly false. That's what I said wasn't true. Over 20 billion dollars came into America in the last 8 years because of illegal immigrants. I agree with you that the illegal situation is a burden on the health care system but that isn't what you were talking about above. Illegals (who pay taxes, by the way, the same taxes that go to that health care system) pose no threat to you, I can assure you. If I'm wrong, please tell me, specifically, what you, RockyMason, has had to give up, or sacrifice because of the immigrant "problem." America makes nearly 200 billion dollars a year from immigrants, illegal or otherwise. And in a generation these people are fully contributing American citizens (withen 10 years 3/4s of immigrants, illegal or otherwise speak English fluently). If the demonstrations yesterday in downtown LA taught us nothing, it is that immigrants are a giant group, a group that is making money for America.

As we've gotten off topic, I'll say that while I know less about the Polish immigration to England, in what I've read and researched it reminds me socially a lot of the backlash against Mexican and Latino immigrants in the States. Obviously, the geopolitical landscape is different across the pond but if the similarities are there, its a bunch of brouhaha over nothing.

Im british and have lived here all my life wish i could say i was proud to be british but i cant , I have lived in London all my life and watched this country change and it,s city' London has never been a nice place and britsh people are not what u see on TV , we all dont wear bowler hats and drink pims .Since i have been a child i have grown up with black white asian all immigrants' i live in a city that is filled with many cultures and has been for generations , im one of many who has grown up in a multiracial community and i dont have a problem with people trying to start a new life within the city or in the UK . What u fail to see is people just looking for a future better life , what they dont see is what i see .

In my previous post I grossly exaggerated when writing about the English people's attitude towards us Poles. I wrote the bitter remark out of the sense of frustration at some of the expressions of Polonophobia in England. It's easy to grossly exaggerate in such a mind-frame. I've been feeling bad about my comment ever since, but not had the time to drop in and straighten it up. In spite of the heavy brainwashing of the English people by the press psychopaths against us, Poles, there are still many English people with a fair friendly attitude towards us. These people haven't allowed themselves to be set aganst us; their perception has remained unaffected by the hate propaganda. And this is admirable. I apologise to all the English friends of Poland in this forum (e.g. Osiol, Daisy) for my previous remark (the one about the historical injustice, etc. nonsense). I still say that both the Irish and English are the best most decent peoples I've ever met. Cheers. :)

im a native and have lived in London all my life but not all of us English have a negative attitude towards immigrants who come here to start a new life ,those that do have a grudge are a small minority and u find good and bad in every race .
