I have been searching for a decent recipe for kotlet mielony. I know they are fairly simple to make but I'd still like a recipe so if anyone has one in English or knows of where on the Net I can find one I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks,

PD :)

that's my dad's recipe.... very simple and yummy... i've done it a few times and always came out delicious...

1/2 kg ground pork
1 bun
1 small onion
1 egg
spices to taste (salt, pepper...)
and bread crumbs

one day old bun is good (just make it a little wet so it'll mix better), finely chop the onion, add to meet with egg and the rest of the stuff... make a medium size or small patties, coat the with bread crumbs and voila :) smacznego ...

edit: it's from the top of my head but i didn't forget about anything...

Frying it on grape seed oil or olive oil is probably the best choice. Make sure the kotlety are allowed to sit on the pan on low heat for a few minutes, once they've been fried from the outside. That way they are a bit more crispy ;)

You're right, it originates as a Greek dish and is wrapped in vine leaves...it is delicious. I have eaten it but never cooked it! :)

It's popular all over the Balkan area.

delicious.

Quite ;)

Quite simple. My mother used to make this when I was a child. No more homecooked meals for me these days... :(

Hmm, I googled it, and the above recipe is pretty close to my moms. She once wrote it down for me, and I misplaced it...

Anyway, its a fairly long preparation time, which you can't get around. Cook time is short though...
We usually used less pork, and more rice and vegetables. This recipe seems to be made for the North American appetite.

Then get cooking laddo! I used to be a "never" cook but I decided one day that I had enough of frozen crap and fast food junk and I have been experimenting since, and I have killed no-one yet! Goł±bki is the only Polish dish I have perfected(!) so far (and my Polish friends that have eaten it have loved it!). Cook from scratch, you can't beat it! :)

If I could send it priority mail then I would (and make some money!) but it doesn't work that way...yet! I need to make contact with a company who can freeze and then ship... :)
