Apartment purchase in Poland

Just to keep people abreast of the situation. We have a small 30m new build flat, which will be finished in April, we paid 77,000 zl cash for it and now it is worth around 140,000zl and hasn't even been finished. In April, we are going to spend around 10,000zl putting in the kitchen , floor, bathroom and then rent it out for a year, before selling it.

By which point hopefully it should be around the 220,000zl mark. Sell it and then re-invest. New build apartments are the most hassle free way of buying property for foreigner amateurs (like me). Just make sure the company is reputable.

My point is this. Unless you are a seasoned wheeler dealer, unless you speak Polish or have polish speaking partners, buying property specifically land to build on is not so easy. New build apartments, just cut away alot of the hassle. As a bonus, flats are often easier to resell if everything goes tits up.

Hi,does anyone know polish banks that offer really good mortgage deals for foreign investors ? we're looking to buy apartment in Poznan or Krakow,not sure what sort of interest rate is usually offered to foreigners..

I have found that Fortis Bank gives mortgages to foreign investors.

Sometimes it's worth going through a mortgage broker, such as Open Finance or Expander, and they will search the market and find the best offers available.

We have bought an aprtment in Crakow off plan - coming up to completion soon.
We need to fit a kitchen. The Uk company offering to organise this for us wants to charge a fortune. We're pretty sure most of the money will be going to the UK company. We'd rather it went to locals.We'd be happy to go the IKEA route (there is one in Crakow) but need a reliable fitter or company locally.
Anybody got any ideas of how to do this from London.
We are hoping to go over at a relevant point with our Polish mate to organise it, but he's not from Crakow so has no contacts there.

Trickymicky, try Joshua Mills Interiors: jminteriors.pl, they're a UK owned firm, but based in Poland using an all Polish workforce and as you will see from their website, can do a good job at reasonable rates.

IKEA can organise fitters as well for a very reasonable fee...

My kitchen must be worse. If the fitters don't turn up, I can offer my services. I'm not bad at plumbing, but occasionally make a few minor errors - kitchen sink installed upside down, forgetting to give the kitchen a floor, taking down shelves and forgetting to put them back up.
