Appropriate Gift for Wigilia

My Polish teacher has invited me to celebrate Wigilia with her family. I am non-Polish. She will be cooking a traditional 12-course meal. I would like to bring an appropriate gift for her and for her husband. Usually, I would bring flowers and a good bottle. How does that sound? Should I also bring gifts for the other guests? Many thanks for the feedback.

Check about alcohol. Some people don't drink alcohol on the 24th.

Thanks Wroclaw. Are there more traditional gifts that are offered on Wigilia?

Syrena,

I'd wait for ideas from a few posters. Many things at Christmas are regional. And besides you still have plenty of time to think about it.

Don't worry. I will.

Cheers.

It depends from the person - I think that if she is a teacher, propably she like to read (what a stereotype ). Recently I was having the same problem with my family and I've decided to buy them something interesting to read. I don't think that alkohol is a good idea, but from the other side last year I've done a special "nalewka" for my father (it was called "Krupnik Krakowski") and it was so delicious that it disappeared in a flash...

'Krupnik Krakowski' sounds very nice, indeed. Krakowski was the Holy Father's favorite pastry, is that right? Yes, a book is a good idea. As you said, it depends on the person.
