Is there anything in Poland that compares the the cottage/sheppards pie we have in England. Also i was watching a cookery programe that had a sectoin on berries and the presenter mentioned that in Poland a type of berry is used in dumplings, can anyone shed some light on the subject?

Thanks

Probably blue-berries. They are quite common in dumplings.

There is little red meat in poland, pierogi would be the closest, although pierogi contain flour..

You're are most likely thinking about the Perovnacz,
It's more common in southern Poland, where the potato fields are plentyful
farmers would make them and feed them to their children, so they could tend the potato feilds much easier
