Czesc, lovely people, I know this probably has a cats chance in hell, but here goes! I am also aware that we don't want the forums to be a CV posting site, but I'll give this a go, it might give you a laugh!
I would be grateful if you could read my post and tell me your opinion, it'll only take 5 mins! even though it may bore the pants off you! :)
I am currently living in Glasgow working for Glaxosmithkline. My polish girlfriend is coming to live with me in May, she currently lives in Krakow and I go over once a month. Well we have our fingers crossed that she will like and settle in Scotland but if she doesn't then it looks like we will have to move back to poland, which is a long term goal anyway, once I get to grips with the language.
My background is that I hold a PhD in organic chemistry, I have worked for 7.5years in the pharma industry, and am currently a a technical manager, on a plant that manufactures 12 drugs for the GSK network. My job role now is part technical but mostly management 50+ people and also knowledge management/transfer utilising different systems such as operational excellence and 6 sigma principles.
Apart from that I am a hard working individiual with good communication and interpersonnel skills, development and delivery of training packages, as is required when communicating cross functionally within the workplace on many different levels (site business team down to the operator responsible for manual labour).
My question is abeit the langauge barrier surely some companies based in Krakow could find a use for my experience and science background.
What do you think?
Ever hopefull
Neil :)
you will find jobs no worry with that lot of jobs for qualified people like you. if not in krakow sure in Warsaw only thing is the pay will be way to low compared with the one you have now in the UK . Is a bit cheaper here the in the UK but not too much less. if you can find an UK firm that has operations here and bring you down as an expat will be the best, live here with UK wages . but there are jobs
Cheers,
Not wanting to open a can of worms but my GF is not keen on Warsaw being from Krakow. Rivalry like Glasgow /Edinburgh I suppose :)
My company has site in Poznan but her mums partner said he moved from poznan after living there since birth because Krakow was more fun! Sorry if I offend Poznan people, its Andrews view not mine!
Neil
Cheers zion,
To be honest with you I'll live anywhere, I am not that bothered, its the little lady who might be more choosey!! :))
