Chocolate and fig cake in pastry

luisa   Aug 27, 07, 10:00 /  #
A friend of mine was born in Poland and made me a rich and delicious cake for my birthday years ago. It was encrusted in a delicate pastry, inside was a moist chocolate fig and nut filling, among other ingredients. I would love to make this myself. The recipe was very invlolved, it was almost like a giant choclate fig newton. Does anyone have this recipe?

Without the name of the cake it's going to be difficult to determine what exactly it was..

Hi, Thanks for responding. I wish I knew the name of the cake, I was given the recipe and I lost it. My friend translated it for me and it was difficult to understand. It was enclosed in a delicious crust, inside was a moist dense chocolate filling with nuts, figs (maybe other fruits), chocolate chunks, spices. Does this sound like something you may know about?
