Fedoreshenko, Fedorisczenko, Orlowa, Nickaliva Polish? Russian?

My grandfather and grandmother came across on boat in 1912. they listed there town as "BR Y NSK" or "BR JA NSK" hard to make out name. And that is in Russia, but my mother said they were not Russian, but Polish. My aunt says Russian. Anyone know a bit about the names themselves. I found out "enko" means son of.

And does anyone know is there is a census in Russia or Poland that would list the names in the country, like we have in the US?

1912..Good thing they didn't take the Titanic...

The small village BRYŃSK exists in north-central Poland, which in 1908 was taken by Russia, so that's why you have two different stories
