hello,
I just stumbled onto this forum.
I have been surfing the net for weeks trying to find a place called
village silwanowczy.
My grandfathers naturalization papers claim that is his place of birth.
I can find nothing called that. He was born in 1892 or 94.
Has anyone heard of it?
I have also looked in Lithuania and belarus to no avail.
any clues about it or where else to look will be most appreciated.

Either the village does not exist anymore or it is written wrong.

Well that is how it is spelled on the paper, but like most things I have discovered, there is 10 spellings for it and no way of knowing which is the correct one.

Does anyone have any ideas where to find a map of that time period that might have the village on it?

If I could pinpoint a location I could start possibly looking for a church where some records might be found.
