Many here see me as some 'Anti Poland' maniac. I love Poland and just find it Very very sad to see it going down the toilet. They are so reliant on EU and foreign investment but have a bunch of idiots running everything, investers are not stupid, it will stop, Poles with any IQ are leaving the sinking ship.
Pis is more concerned tracking down old Communists 'as recomended by 'Radio Maryja', picking out the Jews 'as recomended by 'Radio Maryja' and stopping any gay thoughts 'as recomended by 'Radio Maryja'.
The extreamists are running the country. I just get so angry when people think IT IS ALL PERFECT! here is the link for the all thing for the true .http://pub10.bravenet.com/forum/775788990/show/1016230

It is all just sad, Poland came so far. For what?

Zion has a valid point, I think. The Government could and should be doing more to encourage Poles to form their own businesses. But we see mostly foreign companies taking control, but that is the way the world is going. I think Poles are extrememly clever and given a fair field to play on meaning easier business regulations and speedier processes, the economy would pick up from within as well as from the outside.
I really don't believe Zion has an anti-Poland axe to grind.
I see it too Poland is held back by an inefficient system. And dare I say it (please don't kill me) religion.

I second that :) look at Bush

Zion- I thought at one point Lech was offering some money for young PL people to come back.

What are your feelings towards foreign corporatins moving into Poland? Many are against this, yet they wish for more jobs or more opportunity.

Maybe some of these student and people working aborad will eventually bring their skills back to PL because I know family is so important. I see your frustration but I cannot relate because I don't live there.
Once these people that remain in PL get older, who will be replacing them in the work place? Are there apprenticeship programs in PL? Trade schools?

What is your suggestion to try and keep Poles in Poland? I try to tell my GF and she says theres nothing for here there and the employers don't pay well. What would make PL more attractive to it's youth do you think? .

Poland has only been in the EU a short time......nothing worthwhile happens overnight......it takes many years......give Poland sometime (and the people who left----my guess is many will be back) :)

Yes ur rite , they go to UK because most English are lazy , yes and because of the money and easy life there. I recon its also because Poland is over populated and and too many people no jobs left . Once the big guns come into POLand with there money , there will be many jobs soon, for example cars manufactures , electronics and so on ther'e coming in slowly ..

But, people don't want to work these types of jobs. I do agree that it makes no sense if they were to work at the same place but in the UK, but some people aspire to be sth better.

They need hope Fisz sounds simple but I talk to young folks everyday and the sound like your GF. Those with decent jobs and the possibility to advance stay. The others leave. They feel that the older generation of politicians cares little for them and they will be replaced by people they train and the cycle will go on forever.

Away Guy, I'mhappy too but I am lucky I have a skill that is needed and I can take care of my kids and wife on my income, but in America it would be impossible on a teachers salary. I mean I don't save much but I can go on vacation once a year and take it pretty easy all summer, but I make decent money here I cannot fathom how people have kids and live on less than 2000 zloty!
What I am saying is Poland has great potential and the Gov. seems to be choking it.

Just curious what would you like to do for work here Fisz? If you don't mind me asking.

Yes, a lot of things did change. For example I remember few years ago having a job was basically a privilege. Do you want to know the secret behind the oh so famous "polish working ethic"? Well before 2004 I always heard from my employer "If you don't like it than leave! There are 10 people standing outside the building and waiting for your job!". It was a pretty good motivation to work extra hours for free and do things that werent in my . But now due to a work force shortage the situation really did improve. Slowly we can feel the wages rising even here in the province. I just changed my job and I'm happy with my income, something that wasnt that certain few years ago.

I don't think that they know exactly how to do that.

This phenomenon is strongly connected with our communist’s heritage. You see during the communist times the reality here was rather dull. Everything was gray, there were times where the only products stocked in shops where mustard and vinegar, long ques, government invigilation, no perspectives what so ever… From time to time we could see some western/American films in TV and everybody was dreaming about living the life of westerners. Times have changed, CCCP broke down but people still are fascinated with the west. You know, If someone would lock you in your house and force you to stay you would hate that place at some point. Add to that the power of TV with the power of gossip and you will get the answer. I think that a lot of people don’t know what they have until they loose it.

I think PIS uses religion to establish themselves as the family values party and perhaps investors are a little leary of doing business with what they don't completely understand. And the church has an unusually strong influence here which may sometimes be detrimental to business. Your right it is a bit of an exaggeration and I am not against family or morality or faith, but most strong economies don't have such a strong Catholic voice as does Poland. Not that Poland has to copy these other nations and the church has also done some tremendous good for Poland I just think its harder to be a so called God fearing person and be a successful business person, sad but true.
Quoting: Matyjasz

excellent point. its easy to say they should do something without offering any answers.I agree Poland needs some time and I hope many people go to other countries learn from their business practices and make the necessary changes here so Polska is what it could be. Again not that all the answers are in the west, but there are some things to be learned and expanded on to help Polska.
