Visa or certification to work and live in the U.K.?

I just took a look on a website from the U.K. that deals with visas and work permits. Says I don't need a visa, although, I already knew that. I'm still not totally sure whether a work permit will be required for a 3 month stay. ukvisas.gov.uk/

Does I would have assumed that if you hold, have held and are not otherwise disqualified from obtaining such a passport, that you would be able to continue to work legally in the United Kingdom on your polish Passport as Poland has joined the E.U. If you had relinquished Polish citizenship that may be another point all together but the fact that your passport is simply out of date should not really matter-anyway, that my opinion for all its worth.

...but iI would nee a work permit, right? I will be in the U.K. for a 3 month stay, I would like to get a job there during this time frame. I'm wondering whether I'd need a work permit to hold that job. That is my question. I imagine that all this will be much easier to arrange with a valid Polish passport, particularly with Schengen and the 3-months-in-any-6-months rule (unless you have a work permit) coming into play.

The thing that I'm basically wondering about is what passport to use prior to entering the U.K. (if it will even matter). However, I will have both on me just in case. But, I'm guessing my best bet will be to ask the U.K. consulate in the city.

Thanks, Pawel i am almost 100% sure that you will need a permit to work in the uk.i remember an american girl who was working with me.she was sent back to the usa from the airport cos she admitted working in the uk and was travelling on the american passport.she had also a portugese passport but for some reason didn't bring it.anyway to be 100% sure i would phone the uk embassy.
