They warm their milk
They like to barter anything they buy
They open up boxes in stores to see what they're buying
Wash clothes by hand
Afraid of microwaves
Wear boy-kinis
They ride bikes on the freeway

- You mean: all the Polish people in the US do that?

Including yourself (if you're Polish)?

People in the US don't like warm milk. They like a cold glass of milk and eat cereal with cold milk. Not talking about hot coacoa. Must be a European thing to drink warm milk.
When someone sells a car in the US, the buyer usually asks how low will they go, but Polish people will barter and stand there for hours and look at any little dent to make the guy sell his car for less.
I've seen Poles open boxes of toothpaste and shampoos to smell the stuff, then the box is open and they leave it in the store. You can't do that. The merchandise is damaged.
They wash clothes by hand and hang it over the tub to dry. They don't like driers, they say their clothes get ruined in washing machines, untill they get one and realize it saves time.
They are not familiar with microwaves untill they actually use one.
No lies, just my observations and how people from other countries act.
And no, I am not talking about mr. G. Just the Poles I know in general.
They don't like American fast food restaurants, will not eat fries or burgers there, but will eat fries and burgers if presented to them on a plate. Same thing, different presentation.

You're right. I shouldn't generalize. But I've seen Poles do that.

There are plenty of accuracies in that statement in regards to my wife. She doesn't understand why I don't try to barter. Everything is to be opened before purchasing, much to my embarrassment, and sometimes chagrin.

Here's one observation:
One-upmanship....Whatever you have, I will have something better. Not only is it better, but I paid less ( or bartered it ). This applies to cars, jobs ( work less, yet earn more ) housing, doctors, hardwood flooring, cellular phones, oriental rugs, satelite TV, homemade pierogies, dogs and cats, and anything else under the sun. There's always a better place to shop, that costs less and has better quality and service.

I knew the Polish were smart (have a few relatives with Polish heritage and their intelligence is almost embarrassing----at least they are cool about it---they don't criticize me when I make stupid remarks!) Remind me, next time, to take my cousin, Tom, with me when I buy a house!

I Love the Polish!!!

BTW, Miss A, I was referring to Krysia's husband (which I'm sure you have figured out by now), but in answer to your question, it's always good with someone you love! :) and I have to admit, I do love him!!!!! (even if he is a Brit....LOL) :):):):)

I know of a few more things the Poles in America do, and it makes me shake in terror.

They breathe when alive.

They keep their eyes open when not sleeping.

And - the horror of horrors! - they laugh when amused.

So it's right that they still must apply for the American visas.
