HOW MANY TIMES CAN YOU LOVE IN A LIFETIME? Once, twice or many ...

Was just wondering what you guys think? Can you only fall in love ONCE. Or is it possible to love more than once in your lifetime. Can you love twice or maybe even 3 or 4 times?

I think it depends on the individual, but for the most part, I believe humans have the capacity for love many times in a lifetime. For myself, I have "fallen" in love more that once in my life. When the relationships ended, I grieved the losses, but I didn't shut myself off from ever loving again. Love is something we all yearn to have and give.....not to be able to give or receive it is just not natural. That's not to say that at times we might feel we can never love again (been there, done that). Especially when one is grieving over a lost relationship, sometimes it's hard to move forward.....usually out of fear of being hurt or the belief that there will never be any relationship that was as good as "that." The important thing is to remember that by giving love away, you never lose anything and ultimately you might gain something far greater.

Love is a surprizing thing, you never know when or where it will strike.

I think that it is the quality of love that is most interesting, not how many times you have felt it, for example:

I'm guessing that I have an extra decade or two over some of the posters, and I thought that at my age, I knew quite a lot about relationships. When I got together with my ex husband, there was a strong sense of "coming home". I had found my soul mate-two people somehow blended into one. But for a number of reasons, we grew apart.

It was a Polish student that I met, that was beyond everything I knew. There was some powerful energy between us that I still can't get my mind around. We were friends only, but this energy persists, long after he left. When he was around, I had this feeling of calmness, safety, and nothing could disturb me...I was bullet proof. We laughed all the time, and there were a lot of smiles. There just aren't any good words to tell about this. Something inside me changed forever because of him. I consider him to be the "great love" of my life at this point.

My husband was the great love of my life, my soulmate (i thought) but our 13 years together was very traumatic to say the least and no matter how bad things got i always loved him. The day i threw the towel in on my marriage was 1 of the hardest days of my life. I thought i'd never love again until i met my polish friend but that was not to be either so LATINA the answer would be 2. the second time would not have been as deep but it hurts nonetheless.

This goes to prove that you can love again Angel Eyes. I'm sure there is one lucky guy out there for you (just as I hope there is one for me). You had a long relationship, 13 years is a long time. I'm sure you had great times too.

where do you live Angel Eyes? I was born in South America, raised in New York City. Was married for 10 years to a Colombian man. That didn't work out. Then I met my Polish guy. I have NEVER felt so much chemistry, love or whatever you call it until I met my Polish guy. I thought he felt the same way but he left me for a Polish topless dancer. I have been heartbroken since and I don't know why but I would like to meet another Polish guy.

You seem to be a very nice lady and love will knock on your door again. Just one. It was very scary for me. Like nuclear explosion or something...brain shut down...like deer in headlights really. *sigh*

THIS IS THE PERFECT DESCRIPTION of the chemistry I felt with my Polish guy! Nuclear explosion this is exactly what it was everytime I saw him and was with him. I never felt this Nuclear explosion with any one but my Polish guy. Angel eyes, where do you live? I hear Irish guys are really nice too?

Yes shop girl i totally agree. Im still searching myself and think id rather be on my own than settle for second best.
I think it will take years to get over all this if ever!
Im just hoping like everyone else that it is possible to find again but the quality of men is drastically reduced since i used to play the field if you catch my drift
