Okay, I have read some of the topics about "what we all want" and it would appear that men are more unhappy about being single than women.

For me its a case of "yes it would be nice to be with someone" but Im not going to get worked up about it since there are worse things that can happen in life and stressing about it isnt going to make it happen.

A possible explanation - men "need" sex more than women do. Combine that with the social pressure for monogamy and the scourge of STDs, and you have more unhappy men than women?
Maybe?

to answer the topics question..... HELL NO. we just hate the games being played. and the fact that women expect men to know what they are thinking all the time... when we really don't care

Hmm, interesting response, I read your topic, so its quite clear you care what women think since you took the time to post on a forum to a load of strangers about your problems. Problem being a women blowing hot and cold and ignoring you...

Yes. I would be happy to be with someone permanent but then again, I am happy being on my own for the most part!

I'm not entirely sure about this. His family took the crap out of him.

So I would imagine you wouldn't want to be considered as 'Al Bundy' :-)

[quote=Amathyst] Are men more unhappy about being single than women
Amathyst

I'm not quite sure whether either gender is more unhappy about being single.
Recently I had been casually dating a very nice Polish guy. The only problem is he was getting very serious, much too quickly.

After just a few dates he had already told me the L word. In a sense I was flattered. At the same time it made me run in the opposite direction. I like taking my time when entering a new relationship.

He's always had long-term relationships. Perhaps he doesn't like to be alone. I suppose he feels he must be in a serious relationship at all times.

I hope he NEVER discovers this forum, or I'm dead meat!

A sincere thanks PF, for putting up with me FIVE terrific years, muah!

Yes I think you are right. If you do not want a serious relationship with him I think you should tell him that now or at least tell him you need time.

There are men and women, that are really-fussy.. (not easy-catches) which in ways, is not a bad-thing.
Since, we are all looking for a "Mr. or Miss-Right." ..I'm one of those people.

"Are men more unhappy about being single then women?"

-I think, It it just depends if you are the type of person, that is searching constantly.. and I think that love is a "funny" and unpredictable thing.. it will come to you in time.
(When the moment and chance or time is right). :)

"Romantics-at-heart" like-I, tend to always dream of that "One".. hoping to find him someday into the future. In my own opinion, there are allot of men that adore being single... including women.

It depends really, whether you are ready to commit or love being a free bachelor or bachelorette.. ;)

Does anyone want to remain single as they get older? The answer is no, at least a majority of people believe that way. But I nor should any other settle for anything. There is someone out there for everyone...just get off your ass and look.

AFAIK, single men live shorter lives (and jokers say married men feel like their lives go on for 1000 years)

Yes you are completely right but I still think the BEST sex comes from being truely in love ;-)

You learn each others body like no one night stand could ever do.

I am not unhappy at currently being single because that is where I am right now.It is better to be in a loving relationship though. As for sex I think that sex is best in a loving relationship as Gavin79 says but having said it can still be really good outside of a relationship.
