Mexican in love with Polish girl. Need advice on what to do.

Hi.

I need help from all the people that has been deeply in love with somebody. It doesn't matter if he or she was Polish.
I live in the United States, but I'm from Mexico. My legal status in the US is currently not good, you know what I mean. I met a Polish girl while she came for a holiday. We felt in love with each other. We stayed togheter for like 5 months, but they felt like years. She was here on a tourist visa. When she left we decided to try to be together. It's been more than one year since she left, and I can't wait any longer I want to be with her. I'm 26 years old, She is 36 she's living and working in England. I graduated from Hihg School here in the United States, but because my lack of documents I couldn't go to college. I need advise. what can I do. I was thinking go to poland marry her, wait a couple years and maybe I can study and work over there. I was reading another message where the guy said you could get married in England and become polish resident. I don't have any knoledge about this, nor expirience My girlfrend neither. Porfavor ayudenme. Please help me. People tell me to forget about her, but I just don't see me living without her. Any advise and support will be greatly appreciated.

You cannot come to the UK and get married to her as she is not a UK citizen so whoever told you that is wrong. She can only be in the UK living and working as she is a Polish citizen and Poland is part of the EU. In the EU there is freedom of movement and labour between EU countries which is why there is so many Polish people in the UK.

Yes, I'm sorry I didn't choose to be illegal. I consider US my country, I've been living here since I was a kid. I don't want to talk about that because not many people understand, because they haven't been in the situation, and I hope they never will, because is a living hell.

Yes wroclaw, I have been in contact with her ever since she left. We don't have to go to UK, I just need advice on what would be the best way to be with her. I don't know, go to Poland marry her there, wait a couple years while I get residency, I don't know, like I said I need advice from people that is real, that understands the feeling of loving someone who is far away, and you want to do something but you don't know how to. I'm sure there is someone out there who can help me. She is willing to do whatever it takes, and I'm willing to take the risk with her. Please advice. Thanx.

No maybe you don't understand. I have nothing to do in Mexico. I feel proud of my roots, but all my family is here in the US. I have built my life Here. I don't have a life in Mexico. I don't want to go to UK for Green card. I love this woman, it doesn't matter if she lives in Spain, Russia, or in the moon, I don't care. I would prefer to be an illegal all my life than using somebody to get a green card. Sorry but you misunderstood.

I really don't want to bother anyone! I apologize to you sledz. If I ever go to Poland of UK I'm going to do it the right way. I didn't come here illigaly. I'm not a wetback. I'm looking for advice to go to my girlfriend. I don't want to be the reason for you all to start arguing or being offensive to each other.

Jonny, This might seem like a dumb question, but would you be traveling on a Mexican passport or a US passport ? If you want to visit either the UK or Poland you will have to make enquieries at the relevant embassy. If they don't let you into the UK or Poland, and you are sent back, you'll have big problems back in the USA. I think you have to resolve your status in the USA before you do anything else.

wroclaw is right. Unless you have a dodgy illegal passport..If you leave the US you may never get back in if you have been illegal, then if things dont work out in the UK or wherever else, you will have no choice but to go back to Mexico. This happened to a Polish friend of mine who lived in the US for 7 years and had his own business there.. he was married to an American and awaiting a green card, but was working illegally in the meantime. He went back to Poland for 2 weeks and they wouldnt let him back in.. this was 3 years ago and he's still waiting.

it sounds like Jonny didn't choose to come to the US on his own as an adult. His parents are the ones who brought him over when he was a kid. Should Johnny be blamed for this? What should he do now? Should he go back on his own? I can see his dilemma. Jonny, the person who can answer your question is an immigration lawyer here in the US. Just ask them for a free consultation. You should definitely try to get legal residency somewhere if you're not going to live in Mexico. There are countries that make it easier for people to become a legal resident and also to get married. The lawyer would know which ones.

That's good advice Shewolf. I am not sure whether he has ANY residency status, even from Mexico (by which I mean with ID/passport etc). Before he even thinks about where to marry his GF in Europe he needs that initial status. If it's Mexico then he runs the risk of never returning to the US if he has to leave to get those documents. That's a big risk that only he can assess against completion of the first step on settling down with his GF.

Ok. Of course I would have to go back to my country and issue a visa to go to Poland if required. The same to go to England. I know that I won't be able to come back to the US. I'm willing to take that risk. My brothers are legal, and I have an application for residency here, but it is a 13 year wait. Thank you shewolf because that's exactly what happend I was following my parents. I didn't really know what we were doing. Everybody is focusing in my legal status in this country, but what I really want to know is what is the best way to be with my girlfriend. I know that you are not laywers, but maybe you know more from experience. Like how long would it take to get residency in Poland if I marry my girlfriend there? would I be able to work? stuff like that.

It is certainly not possible for a non UK resident to marry another non UK resident in the UK. In any event the question is academic as he would not be allowed in the UK. I would have thought his best bet is to go to Poland and marry her in Poland if that makes him a Polish resident/Polish passport holder and I do not know the answer to that. However that almost certainly means he cannot go back to the US.
