Winking at a woman - the Polish way ;-)

Hello , I'm a new user here . This may be a silly question but here goes ...

In England if a man winks at a woman it usually means that he either

1. He has something in his eye
2. Is letting you know that you are sharing a secret
3. Is letting you know that he is attracted to you .

Is this the same for Polish men ?

I've noticed that a couple of Polish men that I know ( but not that well ) have winked at me when I've said hi to them . I have always assumed that it was just a friendly "hello" gesture rather than a flirting thing .

A Polish guy at work who I have a crush on ( and I am on speaking terms with ) walked towards me the other day gave me a huge smile and a wink . I was so surprised that I think I gave him a slightly odd look . I think I may have offended him by misreading a friendly hello as something more flirtatious ( wishful thinking lol ) . Or was he actually flirting with me ?

His behaviour seems to have changed from friendly to polite since then .

Any opinions would be welcome ! Thanks .

Did this wink come with a slight nod of the head ? If so, it was 'hi'

But on the other hand your luck could be in.

I don't think that there was a nod . It was a huge smile and a wink .

When other guys have winked at me it has come with a nod and it just felt like a friendly "hello " thing .

It's funny though that small gestures like a wink can be completely misread by people from different countries .

Perhaps he has changed his behaviour from friendly to polite because he has realised that I may possibly have miss read his friendly "hi" as flirting . Haha . I'll just carry on being friendly and see what happens next :)

yeh you say halo so a english gal she says hi haw are you and good by ya say halo to a polish gal end up marrying her i think he wants to marry ya have 5 kids and live in a barn whith da goats ha ha ha

from my experiance of poles most of em date only get marrid when the kids in the oven thoght poles are muce more family orientated then wham bam thank you mam just make shure he dont drink and your ok!
