Hello all,
Does anyone know where I could get my hands on a polish edition of Phillip Pullmans trilogy 'His Dark Materials'?
Cheers

you can try online in general on www.empik.com - it's a Polish network of book stores.

Also, while I'm here... would someone be kind enough to translate the following for me? (man to a woman)

The trilogy I feel all those blessed with eyesight should peruse.
(It's one that I had a famous psychotic drunken episode whilst reading... I thought I was Lyra! Oh, the shame).
Lots of love, hugs and kisses,

(the lots of love, hugs and kisses is more a jokey sign of affection rather than devout love...if that makes a difference?) Thankyou kindly in advance smile

Ok, the form of what you've written is quite difficult, because it seems a little elevated. Let's give it a try. Would be good if you got a second opinion on that afterwards

Trylogia, ktorą wszyscy ci obdarzeni wzrokiem powinni przejrzeć.
(Ta, w ktrórej trakcie czytania, przeżyłem psychotyczny epizod.. Myślałem, że jestem Lyrą. Jaki wstyd.)
Uściski i Buziaki.

Funny, I seem to not be able to translate "Lots of love". something's not right. smile
a famous psychotin drunken... I skipped the first and the last, because I don't know how to phrase that.

here's an 'unskipped' version:
ta, w trakcie czytania ktorej przezylem slynny epizod psychotyczny po pijanemu

smile Thanks for your help chaps.... so I'm safe with the following...?

Trylogia, ktora wszyscy ci obdarzeni wzrokiem powinni przejrzeć.
ta, w trakcie czytania ktorej przezylem slynny epizod psychotyczny po pijanemu... Myslalem, je jestem Lyra. Jaki wstyd.)
Usciski i Buziaki.

Also, where would I be standing on the lots-of-love-front if I put 'duzo milosc'... is that more than a friends affection? it's just I always sign her b-day cards lots of love, hugs and kisses and hoped to finally translate it smile cheers again

if you've decided to do without Polish chars altogether, then przejrzeć should become przejrzec

'duzo milosc' is ungrammatical in the first place, but even after adding the necessary ending (duzo milosci) it is not a phrase that a Pole would use to end a letter with.
I can't actually think of a phrase that would mention love but that would not be interpreted as too intimate. My impression is that you see 'lots of love' on many postcards, not necessarily written to one's significant other. Am I right?
On the jokey side, I would suggest writing "Kocham Cie na zawsze" (I love you forever). I guess this will not be intepreted as an earnest confession in your 'context'.
