I had a "pleasure" to fly a couple of years ago. I was flying from NY to Warsaw. There was no major problem. But then in Warsaw I wanted to buy a ticked to Wroclaw. I knew there were many free sits (that's what the receptionist said). However, the price she provided (about 900 Zl per person) just for the flight from Warsaw to Wroclaw was ridiculous. I told her I could pay 500zl per person, but not 900zl. She (I mean - the LOT people - I also talked to their manager) was not flexible at all - and the plane took off half empty. I ended up buying a train ticket (first class) - but of course there were not enough sitting places in the first class so I was standing for 5 hours with a nice first-class ticket in my hand. It wasn't a nice experience for me as I thought when I buy a first-class ticket I would get a place to sit. The "conductor" didn't care - he said sit in the corridor until someone leaves (I noticed he was sitting alone reading a newspaper in the whole compartment).
