I am going to Warsaw just before Christmas. Can anyone personally recommend any hotels in Warsaw suitable for a romantic break?

If i where you, i would rent an apartment. Then you can do whatever you want. It's also pretty cheap.

I have only good things to say about this company: citycenterapartment.com

Interesting idea. I'm only going to 5 days and I like to be waited on hand and foot. Hotels are pretty cheap too. Might be worth considering for a future trip though...

Rialto - Without question the best hotel in Warsaw.

I recommend the Hilton - absolutely fabulous, and a fantastic gym (Holmes Place) thrown in for free. About 20 mins walk from the centre of town though...

Ideally I'm looking for somewhere close to a good selection of shops and restaurants

I would recommend the Polonia Palace - excellent reviews in tripadvisor.co.uk
Stayed there for 3 nights a few years ago and was very impressed. Fantastic breakfasts and also a great set dinner - all served by candlelight and silver service.

Not sure sausage, I would look on their website....but if you want to travel around Warsaw, we took the trams or wallked..very easy to get around, it helps to speak/understand Polish though!

fortunately my beloved is Polish. We don't plan on driving around much. Just need somewhere safe to leave the car. The staypoland website that AvJoe mentioned details parking arrangements. I've been instructed (by the boss) that I need to find one with a pool...

I think its too late too put a comment here :), but for information Polonia just seem's to charge insanely high prices for internet. Though I must say they have excellent rooms and breakfast.

Another I would suggest is Zgoda Apartments (stayed there for a week) . Its better than most of the hotels.

We ended up staying at the Sheraton, which a nice modern hotel. The bedroom wasn't particularly warm though....
