Differences in Warsaw / Warszawa since 2000

Czesc all, (first post)

I lived in Warsaw with my Polish girlfriend (now wife) for 2 years from 1998-2000. I haven't been back since (live near Boston, USA now). We're considering moving back with our 1 year old boy for a variety of reasons.

Just wondering what's different (better/worse) about Warsaw these days since 8 years ago.

for example... Safety (had 2 mugging near-misses back then on the Marszalkowska tram), architecture, city-planning, infrastructure, quality of life, culture, etc...

any insights are welcome.

thanx.

What I did notice when I was there last week is that every subway has at least one highly visible Security staff. It's very reassuring.

Well, my wife's Polish, so we're just weighing Boston vs. Warsaw. Factors include: Maternity Leave, university costs, culture, travel, work-life balance, etc....
