Witam everybody here,
i have "kind of problems".... i'm staying in Poland almost 1,5 year. i'm staying in Country area.. i like quite place.. but i have 1 neighbour who often change their dogs collection often, but never taking care of them. their last collection almost 2 months, they have dogs 4 or 5...they are barking all the time... exspecially between 3-6 in the morning...(simply they are hungry, neighbour don't give them food&put them outside behind their house and close to my flat)..and now the smelt of their **** is spreading around, and interupt me and other neighbour as well... this Neighbour also have plenty of Rooster screaming every 30 minutes... me and some other neighbours try to talk with the neighbour(but i do understand this neighbour unalphabet people, no education)but... is it normal like this in Poland? in Australia, you just make 1 call and 1 depart. will fix them off, and give them penalty...
i don't know how it work in Poland. can anybody tell me, what should i do, i don't think making report to POLICE is good idea.. because this is just civil matter? is there any institution who handle this kind of problem??. i prefer to do it peace full way, but this neighbour simply doesn't give ****!! thanks alot before for the advices. pozdrawiam

I'm afraid that in the country its normal for people to keep their dogs outside all the time and often they make a lot of noise...

I don't think there is really much you can do about it. You said there is another neighbour there who also is affected by this - I think your best bet would be just to talk to him/her and see if they have any constructive ideas.

Realistically though I don't think you will be able to do much....

poison the roosters and then feed them to the dogs.. you will soon be sorted. Remember they might buy some more though, so maybe you will have to kill the neighbours as well... or just move house?

go to the local police station and make them feel ashamed. Take a friend and tell them he/she is your translator and gently suggest they are 3 rd world country. Should work :)
there is only one solution to threat rednecks, show them how civilised you are and how backward they are

If no one does anything to change the problem, have you thought of using earplugs when you sleep? How about headphones and music? I've had to do this myself because of similar noise problems and it actually works. I'm being serious.

It means I'm sitting there, having a relax (as I tend to do after a hard day's work), and I can't because some person, who is quite obviously an unalphabet person, disturbs my relax. It's quite un-nerving.

dheva...take the chickens........make some chicken soup out of them. Save the bones and feed them to the dogs. Oh you aren't supposed to feed chicken bones to dogs as they splinter....Ooooops!!!!

Shoot firecrackers every time the dogs bark. They are usually afraid of loud noises.
You could tape the roosters beaks together every night but untape them in the morning so they can have a drink or two.

How about packing and moving somewhere also? Better yet, going back where you came from?

Did you say un-Alphabet?
A friend and I were talking when I heard him say “alphabet” in a sentence. Yeah, the English word “alphabet” … pronounced “alphabet” … just like we say it in English. I said … “Alphabet?”And he said … “No, Un-Alphabet”.
So I said … “What the crap is an Un-Alphabet?”

In case you were wondering, the word אלפבית (alphabet) in Hebrew has no meaning, but the word אנאלפבית (pronounced Un-alphabet) means illiterate..

So, who are you dheva? Coming here to stir up a thing or two?

Yes, quite. Ask my wife and she will tell you I am the most unalphabet individual in all of Lower Silesia. But that isn't the issue. The issue here is that poor dheva requires advices on how to acquire his relax in light of the fact that he lives in the country yet is quite perturbed by the level of country noises.

Irony.

Earplugs. I had a friend who lived quite close to a busy road here in Warsaw and that is what she did.

Otherwise, find a different place to live. It is possible that the reason you got such a reasonable rate on rent is because it isn't the most desirable. Complaining about the chickens won't help and the dogs...well, my dogs can be noisy at times...esp. when an ambulance or fire truck goes by.

You can try to talk with the people, of course. That would be first, but were they there first? Is it true that they are illiterate? What difference does being illiterate have to do with noisy dogs or chickens?

?מה פתאום

It does, it means "alphabet" and it's pronounced alefbet.

Eurola:

אנאלפבית (pronounced Un-alphabet) means illiterate..

Which most probably comes from Greek analphabetos via some European language, as a lot of Modern Hebrew words do. The Greek pronunciation (analfabet) implies this. From the same Greek word comes Polish analfabeta.

Anyway, it's not very probable to come across an illiterate person in Poland. Even if it's a nightmare neighbour.

?????? (alphabet) in Hebrew means exactly what it does in other languages. It's pronounced "alef bet" which are the first two letters of the Hebrew alphabet. The origin of those letter names are semitic, used by the Phoenecians and Hebrews before there was a greek alphabet. The Greeks picked it up afterwards.

The form "analphabet" for an illiterate person was copied from European languages as Switezianka said.
