you are in small town and things are slower there. Move to a bigger city. You will have better service, more traffic and faster pace of life.

And today, I just read an interview with a Polish volleyball player and she was saying the same thing about ... Italians, she also complains she had to install the satelite dish by herself, because she had been waiting too long :)

Hi.
Maybe I'm a bit out of toppic, but I find it offencive to write Poland with little p. I don't care much about the rest, I don't always use big letter as well, but this is a country name, ok? Thanks...

well.. It could've always been much worser LOL

I was once in the hospital in North part of Maine, waiting for a doctor to see my twisted knie - been waiting in pain for him for over 4 hours. No nurse, no ice on my knie, no painkillers. Call THIS slow!

Poland is not so bad. Comparing to the latin countries we are sprinters. Try to buy a pack of cigarettes in a store in Italy. You have to wait 10 minutes for the salesman to finish conversation with his neighbour. Once I was waiting a quarter in a bakery in Paris because the owner was teaching the salesgirl how to pack the breads so they would look well.

That's funny, I was in my Polish lesson two days ago when my teacher (who is Polish, obviously) set us an exercise to do. I took some time to think about it, and the teacher said "Oh Keith, you are so Scottish!..." I asked her what she meant and she said "Scottish people are sooo slow - compared to Polish people you take forever to do anything"
I guess it's just a matter of personal opinion, rather than a national thing.

i think in poland maybe tomorrow never comes. its like the word soon-niedlugo. now soon to me in england means within a few weeks maybe a month or two. but in poland i think niedlugo means -it will happen eventually-no particular time limit -but eventually-so you wait and wait-so frustrating

Apathy...it is innate to the culture.

It isn't that they can't get things done...they just don't give a damn often.

I would respond to that, but I'm too apathetic.

In the little shop round the corner from my mate's house, I always got service with a smile from the nice lady.
