Greetings from Devon in England.
I am here to trace my dear departed father's roots. Whenever we asked him about Poland he just smiled and gave really vague answers or just changed the subject!
I've just broken my leg so have lots of time to unearth the truth!
My only clues are:
Name: Ignacy Laszkiewicz.
Parents' names: Antoni and possibly Zeta.
Born: 1925 in Vilnius (Vilna?)
Any help/suggestions would be greatly recieved.
Sprout.

Name of my grandfather's uncle was Ignacy Laszkiewicz. He emigrated to the United States in 1920s as far as I know.

Vilnius = Wilno

When did your father arrive in the UK? He must has been naturalised and that document should have some relevant info about his parents, etc. Also if he was enlisted in WW2 the relevant MoD office will also have his records.
