Has anyone heard of 'Maltsch' village near the Brest, Belarus border?

I will be in Poland for the UN conference in Poznan (visiting from the US). While I am there I would like to try and research the old, now gone, village called Maltsch where my grandparents came from. I believe that is the German spelling for the village (they were Jewish and spoke Yiddish, which is mostly German). Any information would be most appreciated. I would try to travel to the area if there is any chance I could trace the village.

Sincere thanks,
Stuart

This is a result from two sources. About as far as you can get, in Poland, from Belarus

Maltsch = Malczyce 52 degrees north - 21 degrees east

205.9 miles West South West of Warsaw.

It is nextdoor to Wroclaw. Consider the old name Breslau.

Please check: and then get back to us.

You will find Malczyce (Maltsch) at Wikipedia.

It's a couple of hours away from Poznan by train.

village near the Brest, Belarus

Are you sure It is in Poland now ? I checked some areas in that region on the Polish side and found, so either It is in Belarus or the name now is much different or It is really "gone".
