Search for my Polish father - Wladyslaw Nowak

Hi, My name is Terry ( short for teresa) and I've been trying to locate my father Walter / Wladek/ Wladislaw Nowak who left the u.k for Canada in 1957 to work as a miner. Sadly we lost contact not long after and for years I have tried to find him...in vain, can any one out there help...thanx

I imagine there will be a few Walter Nowaks in Canada.
I don't know much about this sort of thing but if he left over 50 years ago is there a Deaths register or something you could search ?

Check: Naturalization Records

After this length of time, check death records.

It's possible that he moved to the USA.

He must be at least 70 years old. yes/no

Check with all other, known, living relatives.

Hi thanks and sorry for late reply...no luck so far but have at least found his name on a passenger list leaving liverpool england for montreal in 1957...so a start at least....thank you again

teresa, you are in luck perhaps. My name is jozef borowski, I met your father in the UK before he left in 1957 and he and I were good friends. your father is living in Vancouver BC, on the west coast Canada. I do not know how he is doing though since we lost contact for about 7 years now. He lived most of his life in Toronto though, so mabye you can find something in that area. dear Jozef thank you so much for that information, you have made me so happy,would you be kind enough to email me on tab-1406@hotmail co.uk and tell me anything else that you can remember or know about him, we lost contact when I was only about 9 years old and my mother sadly died in 1992.
