Hey all (czesc!)

I noticed that quite a few of us like the Pimsleur method and would be interested in a second and third edition. If you feel the same way, I was thinking of starting a petition at petitiononline.com. Would you guys be interested in signing it? I would then forward it to Pimsleur to show them quite a few people would be interested in purchasing it. Let me know!

There are plenty of Polish Languages books and courses on the market. It seems pointless in just re-hashing the same old materials over and over again.

Well I think some people might be like myself and find the other methods not as easy as Pimsleur. If you don't like the idea, don't sign it.

I don't like the sound of an 'easy' way to learn Polish
because it's impossible.

Calling custome service might help too, but I think their marketing people really look at how well the first set sells to determine if there will be a II or III. Bottom line is that if they predict a good return on the investment, it will get made. I really like the series and think it is a valuable tool!

I called them years ago and even offered to help write programs for several languages that I had friends speaking. Polish, Lithuanian, Latvian etc. They said "no thanks".

I said "but we love your programs and they are coming out way to slow to keep up with the demand...."....they said "no thanks"

So it is clear they are not interested in advancing the courses...it took them 10 years just to come out with Polish I over the ten lesson set. I will have far surpassed the material in II and III by the time they create them.

Another example is Eastern Arabic...they just came out with II after about 10 years of I being out and III is not even close to being ready from what they told me.

Good programs but the current management is pathetic....and while I really like the system, they are WAAYYY overpriced for what you get. A typical I, II, III set would be nearly 1000usd if you buy retail.

Using an old (pre-1990)ish Linguaphone course would be far better investment. I bought one a while back on the internet (where we all hang out these days, lol) and it is seriously impressive, better than anything else out there in the self teach world.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
People have been learning other languages for as long as there have been other languages to learn.
Some methods work better than others. Just because some books or records are newer, it doesn't mean they're better.
It's just about what's in fashion.
