This Jewish lady from Israel wrote the following in response to a hateful
anti-Polish article that appeared in the Times (of London) recently. It
alleged that before the World War Two at Easter time Poles would amuse
themselves by burning Jews alive in synagogues.

Dear Polish friends,

I was shocked to read about the slander that a Jew has published
about Poles in The Times. As I have written more than once on this
site, my family lived in Poland for hundreds of years and had it not
been for Hitler's rise to power in Germany, I believe that we would
still be in Poland. My family had many Polish friends, we never
suffered from anti-Semitism, my grandfather was even asked to be a
judge in Zloczow.

I think very highly of Poles, your nation was a home for hundreds of
years to so many Jews, who flocked to your land and called it "Po-
lin" meaning "here peace", which shows how kindly they were treated
by Poles.

During WW2 so many Poles endangered their lives to save Jews, that we
should have felt indebted to you. Here I will tell you a Jewish Joke
which says: "I don't understand why he hates me so much, I still
haven't done him anything good".

I think that Poles are a saintly nation. I myself have also a
personal reason to be grateful: a Polish friend of my grandmother's
sister endangered himself when he tried to save her family. His name
was Stanislaw Czerwinski and I think he was from the surroundings of
Brzezany.

There is a custom to plant a tree near Jerusalem for a person who
saved Jews in WW2. If for every Pole who saved Jews a tree was
planted – we would have a huge forest. I propose that you take it
upon yourself this plan to plant. This will show the world the truth.

And to return to the slanderous article - had a Pole written
something even much milder than this about Jews, there would have
risen a world outcry "anti-Semitism". As a Jew I am ashamed about
this racial article. That The Times published such a thing is a
misdeed.

I'm pretty sure the overwhelming majority of Jews don't hate Poles, even if many (or perhaps most) have a somewhat warped view of the Poles' complicity in the holocaust. I'm also pretty sure that verwhelming majority of Poles don't hate Jews.

Problem is that the ones on both sides who do actually hate are more likely to express their opinions on messageboards.....

So what is the big deal.. I never saw this letter before, and it is a beautiful letter.. And well written. Polonius deserves a lot of credit for bringing this letter to the attention of those that have never seen it before..

You make a point, also...but, remember that pig Israeli tourists are not so much different from pig tourists from other nations.

as beautiful as paint drying on a sunday afternoon :) what is the obsession with Poles and Jews??? who cares and why, the world is multicultural and people should be able to mix no matter, what race, religion, colour, creed etc etc.

The obsession is Polish and Jewish history...one who does not learn from history is doomed to repeat it.

Many Jews ARE Poles, and many Poles are Jews...
Poland was one of the most tolerant countries hundreds of years ago towards Jews which explains why they were in Poland in the first place.....

Jews hating Poles?! Never noticed... The worst Jewish reaction to my nationality I encountered was a sudden loss of interest in me after I said I was Polish. Not much of a hatred.
As far as I can see Poles are just the same goyim as any other ones to most Jews.

The big deal is that once again Polonius3 brings up a post that has already been seen... by those who were paying attention.

No point I guess, just the drive to to get some attention, or a luck of one when checking out the threads.

Agreed. Some do however and blame them (Jews) for everything, but many other nations do too. Poles don't need to be singled out for that.

Yes and no...many Jews see Poles as real peasants, without the 'cultural taste' of Jews, which is funny of course, because many Poles see Jews as arrogant shysters who only have a taste for money.
