Barrring some catatsrophe or other unforeseen turn of events (Clinton obliquely suggested that Obama might get assasssinated the way Robert Kennedy had been as one of ther reasons for not throwing the towel in earlier), leftist (social) Democrat and conservative John McCain will be in a race for the Oval Office. What do you realistically predict the outcome of the vote on 4th November might be?

mccain is actually v. centrist and not republican enough for most of his party. BO has just everyone snowed so it should definitely be interesting.

btw. HC didn't suggest that BO would be killed. please turn off faux news, you'll be better off for it.

I have no idea if HC suggested he might be killed or not, but it is a theory that I have heard mentioned for some time. TBH, it wouldn't come as a great suprise.

this "suggestion" of hers has been taken out of context.. she talked about her husband's late/long nomination process and mentioned kennedy as the other historically late nomination. not a suggestion of an assassination.

No doubt. But the suggestion that he might be assassinated has been bandied about for some time and isn't as far fetched as it might seem.

Even in that context her point was that nominations are never certain she was saying that her husband had a long road to the nomination and the in 1968, Robert Kennedy was killed on his way to the nomination. The subtext there is that "anything could happen." She clearly wasn't suggestion that someone kill Obama but it was a seriously insensitive and unforgivable thing to even mention. What was her point? She has to have better presence of mind to say something like that in this racially and emotionally charge race.

her point was that she was going to fight to the end. i didn't find her remark out of the ordinary at all. seems the media span it out of control. emotional? sure but there was nothing recial about her statements.

I didn't say there was, but the race itself is very racially charged and she has to know better than the mention an assassination in a race that has seen death threats issued towards her opponent since day one. I'm sure had no malicious intent in her statement but if she didn't realize that making those statements would cause a stir, than she has a serious disconnect with reality. I know she didn't suggest anyone assassinate Obama, but what was her point in mentioning that ugly portion of US history anyway? She was saying that "You never know what will happen during an political race and that numbers and polls aren't certain," but no one wants an assassination. She just needs better presence of mind.

The outcome will just be more of the same 'guwno' for us in America, unfortunately...McCain is a traitor, like his father, who covered up the massacre of American sailors by the Israelis on the USS Liberty...URL...McCain also talks of '100 years of war'...Obama will take a softer line, at least on the surface, but they both work for and are paid by the same people.
