MOSCOW, July 7 (Reuters) - A Russian court on Monday refused to consider a request for a criminal investigation into the execution of thousands of Polish army officers executed by the Soviet Union in a World War Two massacre.

Reuters story

Such a shame that Russia cannot admit to its crimes and move on to a new chapter in its relations with Poland, but I guess the Russian character will never allow itself to be belittled by Poland (in its eyes).

And yet by the actions they take, this is what they are doing to themselves.

Oh my God, I am begining to think that Poles are really mad. This theme was discussed in various modifications many times. Leave it, it's vain!
Or lets smear another huge portion of snots!

Not mad, upset. I'm beginning to think Russian's have been asleep for the last 100 years.

Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin currently leads the candidate list in an internet poll of greatest Russians of all time, dismaying
historians, reports said Tuesday.

The poll, which runs on the website nameofrussia.ru. till
September, threatens to become a disgrace, Russian media commented.

'The people simply cannot know the truth,' the head of the Institute of Russian History, Vladimir Lavrov, told the internet newspaper website Gazeta.ru in Moscow.

Lavrov criticized the portrayal of Stalin in school text books as a
hero.

Stalin, who came from Georgia, is generally regarded as the one of history's worst dictators, responsible for the mass murder of millions during his 30-year reign up to his death in 1953.

The poll has been organized by state television channel Rossiya and lists 50 candidates.

Already 1.3 million people have voted, with singer Vladimir Visocki in second place and communist revolutionary Lenin in third.

The singer Katie Melua is Georgian. Exporting suffering seems to be a way of life for these people I think.

maybe it will help to solve some basic problems

This is the first meeting of the group’s experts since its re-establishment in December last year. The Polish team is headed by former foreign minister Adam Rotfeld. Among the difficult historical topics addressed by the Polish side are the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact, the Katyn massacre of Polish POWs, the wartime deportation of hundreds of thousands of Poles to Siberia as forced labor.

FYI- from Russian news

Documents on Katyn executions missing in Poland
Poland’s Institute of National Remembrance has lost the documents detailing the Katyn massacre, when thousands of Polish officers were executed in 1940. The papers were handed over to Warsaw by Moscow in early 1990s after Russia admitted the Soviet Union's involvement in the crime.

Russian court refuses to hear Poland massacre case

Why? to hear is necesery first step

Its not logical move, if Russia wants to pledge with other Slavs in order to secure future of Slavic civilization.

IMO this is what needs to happen if the past is to heal, this is how civilized Slavic people show respect for each other.

I read Crow's response as believing that an admission was a first step in the healing process.

well, my English isn`t perfect and i should appologize if i mistake sometimes but, to make things clear here i would underline...

I, and as i know, absolute majority of Serbians support Polish demands for justice in case with massacres on Polish soldiers commited by Soviet Union. Those tragedies deserve full investigation and Russia should cooperate with Poland on it.

This reminds me of your pocketgod's quote:

They just picked it out of their nose and smeared it on their little sheets

v. putin

You're already speaking with his words. Be aware you may end up in asylum if watching putin-tv that much.

I do not think so. There's a good russian saying: "Za dvumia zajcami pogonish'sya - ni odnogo ne poymaesh". Literally "chasing two hares you'll catch none". I hope you understand.

2Polish friends:
Let me on behalf of some Russians beg your pardon for the crimes commited by "russians" against Poles, especially in Katyn.

Is this like saying your sorry? In the US "beg you pardon" is used if you bump into someone and I was unsure if this is how you use the term.

It was and you're very welcome. I know that British and American English are different and I have no idea which one I speak. Perhaps it's kinda Rus-US-UK blend.

Everybody complains in his own way. :) It inheres in people.
