I watched the McCain speech at the Republican party nominee public gathering scandal farce recently, and found myself laughing histerically.

OMG have you seen his site johnmccain.com/convention.htm ?. Whats with the chesire cat fake smile? You cant let this guy rule America. As for the hosttage situation, Americans love a scandal - it reminds me of the film Manchurian Candidate. Im listening to it right now and its all PoW, poor me im a hero blah blah, does this make a president?

Sarah Palin is just a replacement for Hilary Clinton in the hope of picking up all the votes Hilary may have been awarded from women, smart move but hopefully the US public will see this for what it is.

A 72 year old puppet and a Hilary wannabe who doesnt know what the role of a vice president should be, what a joke.

Do you guys really buy this crap?

Do yourselves a favour vote for Obama, the opposition is worse than the current dim whit crew.

If you did not have such a hard head. It would be possible and fun to discuss something intelligent with you.

Franek, what makes you think that it is all about you. We discuss ideas, not people.

As for my hard head? There are benefits to having one in case you haven't noticed. LOL

As a musician friend once told me back in 1979, when Ronald Reagan was running against Jimmy Carter, and I strongly supported Carter, 'Joe, they both work for the same boys'...I didn't comprehend what he was saying at the time, but now I do...the American people love spectacles, the dog & pony show, the bigger and more elaborate the better...and now, with mass media so technologically advanced that it can make everything a 'Hollywood' style-production, in every sense, and in the sense that the 'scriptwriting and screenplay' is so slick, our democracy has been reduced to 'reality television'...and, as Karl Rove from the Bush administration said 'we create reality'...sorry to be so depressing, but this is the 'reality': there is no choice between the two (Obama/McCain)...only a choice of whether you want a latte or espresso, as at Starbucks....and both are grossly overpriced, and don't taste like real coffee.

Sure there is a difference: look at who they'd nominate for SCOTUS.

Yes, how sad. its not so different in many other countries though, the media has the real power.

Obama does seem like the real deal though a breath of fresh air, I believe he will make a great President.

Just one minor detail: he is black, or at least coloured. Don't underestimate the power of conservatism in the US. I hope Obama will be president, not necessarily because I like him that much, but it would be some sort of a revolution in a grossly über-conservative country like the US. I am afraid, however, that McCain will be the next president. Lately you see more of him in the media than of Obama.

No, you most definitely quoted the wrong person. I believe he'd be a terrible president unless one strives to move towards the western European model of social and fiscal values.

There are plenty of African-Americans that hold conservative values:
Heman Cain
J.C. Watts
Michael Steele
Ken Blackwell
Thomas Sowell
Walter E. Williams
Clarence Thomas

All infinity better ideologically than Obama.

Race is a canard; it's all about ideology.

Can you remember when recently someone asked John Mccain how many houses he owns and his answer was: "I'm not sure, let me ask my staff"?
Well, here is one of those homes for sale:
realestate.yahoo.com/Arizona/Phoenix/Homes_for_sale/b726c49280404667c1 af855387fd40dc

The home features 9 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms and 7 car garage and it has 14,000 sq feet, it can be yours just for $12,000,000.
My favorite are the master bedroom, the theatre and the wine room. But if you want to make an offer on this house, it will cost you $100,000.

tours.tourfactory.com/tours/tour.asp?t=428816&home=http://realestate.c lassifieds.yahoo.com&slink=-2

So who is the "elitist" here? Is it Obama, who just recently finished paying of his student loans or is it the milionare Mccain?

Obama seemed focused on improving programs within the U.S. that will help the people but I think our problems are so much bigger now because of all the unrest in the world. McCain's knowledge of military defense seemed stronger in the debate than Obama's. On the other hand, Obama would have advisors to guide him if necessary.

McCain has been known for years to have an explosive temperament. He's also called his own wife the "C" word in front of the reporters!
On top of that, because of his age (he is 72) he forgets things too.
That's why I could never trust him with the nuclear button. Would you?

Here is an example of the dark side of his character, refusing to shake Obama's hand after the last debate. In my book, this is not a presidential behavior. To put it in other words, McCain is a dick.
