Where did the respect for Polish president go?

polishgirltx   Aug 26, 08, 08:21 /  #
People not always make right choices.
i live in the US, in the deep South where Republicans rule. Not everybody agree with GW Bush politics, but people respects him as i have never heard anybody talking badly about him. The constructive critics of politics is pretty healthy, i think.
And in Poland, my beautiful country, people elect their president and then b!tch about him and make fun of him, especially in front of foreigners. That's sad. Why do Poles act like that?

Poles are more democratic, deep inside of their Slavic being

being democratic and open is natural for Poles. That`s why i likes Poles and my Slavic kind in general

Cause politicians, all politicians, are corrupt self serving incompetent crooks. Everybody knows this. Hence, somebody who runs and gets elected for public office, be it a President, a MP or whatever, must be prepared to be derided and laughed at.

Fact is, they don't even care, they carry on lying, protecting interest groups who got them there in the first place, and generally masquerading as genuinely caring public servants, regardless.

Trouble is a lot of people identify strongly with their country and with the head of that country by association.

You shouldn't. For they do nothing other than taxing ur fellow citizens, wasting their money and get them into all sorts of trouble by pursuing a disastrous foreign policy. Also, these guys r utter useless and when push comes to shove, they will be the first to flee the boat and head to safety elsewhere.

Well I am afraid u missed the whole point if u still don't understand the reason why people do not respect the president: it is because he does not deserve respect.

A hard working honest man striving to raise a family deserves respect. A man unselfishly dedicating his entire life, heart and soul, to a cause dear to him deserves respect. A president doesnt. Cant make it simpler than that, unless ur intention is to beat a dead horse with this subject.

I live in Italy and a lot of people make fun of the Prime Minister Berlusconi, only young boys like him. maybe because this is the third time he is PM, or because he changes evry right for his own businesses. But nobody talks about the president, i discovered we have a new one only 6 months later XD
maybe in South USA they respect Bush, but a lot of people hate him and make funny videos on youtube.
In Poland it's the same, and in my opinion Kaczynski cannot be respected, as I don't know a single person who likes him and I don't like a single thing he has done: sometimes it's like we have a child as president :/

Politicians are not there to be revered.
Some countries don't seem to have got this.

The safe way for a society to function is to instill a deep suspicion of power in the minds of the people, so that they may challenge it, because power is very likely to become self-interested and corrupt.

The voice of the president is always propaganda, or PR, never truthful, honest, or disinterested, people should therefore always challenge the official word.

It's hard not to cringe when reading something like this. Royalty was declared criminal centuries ago, and along with that, blind "respect" for one's sovereign.

I live in the Midwest and find that Bush bashing has been a sport since 2001. Here in Illinois, especially in the bluest of blue areas Chicago, the bashing continues to roll on today.

Whether you agree or disagree with Bush there should some sort of respect paid to the man.

Unfortunately in this ever increasing secular society, where man made laws supplant Judeo-Christian teaching, and where the State is the God, respect for life, property, and equality just keeps on diminishing..

That is your right but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt in that you conduct yourself with class when presenting the issues you have against these men.

In America is is different, very different. I like to say "never have so many travelled so far on the back of the few."

You really liked the World Wars, didn't you Crow???
The "so called West" destroying itself...
Now you dream of another such a catastrophe...f*uck the billions of victims,
the main thing is your Serbia comes somehow out on top, right?

You are the same kind of mujahedeen you so often criticize, a fanatic fighting the holy war...you are brothers in mind and spirit and you will go down the same drain in the end!

what you talking about?

not neceserely

I would like to see how Poland, Ukraine and Russia work togather. It would be quite enough to prevent turko-germanic schemes in Slavic world and quite enough to secure good standard of living for Slavs, with Serbia last or first among FREE Slavic states
