brazilii 8 | 97 10 Jul 2008 / #1Hi! I don't know if there are many brazilians using this polish forum as I've noticed the majority of people here is from UK, USA and Ireland. However I'd like to ask the brazilians out there who lived or live in Poland, which are the differences and similarities from Poland to Brazil? I've been to Poland several times, but as a tourist and I think you have to live there to get the feeling from the place and see what really bothers you or pleases you.Thanks,J.
Marek 4 | 867 12 Jul 2008 / #2I've been to Poland myself as well, also as a tourist (really, day tourist LOL) and, although never having set foot in Brazil, can only imagine that the sheer size and climate are severe differences enough! From the point of view of cultural differences, I'd imagine one'd find many more Brasilieiros on the streets of Sao Paolo who speak fluent English than Poles on the streets of Warsaw.Perhaps I'm mistaken, as usual-:)
OP brazilii 8 | 97 14 Jul 2008 / #4Thank you guys for the answers, but I was hoping for the non obvious ones:)
Marek 4 | 867 15 Jul 2008 / #5For the 'non-obvious' ones, I'd need to have experienced Brazil as closely as Poland.-:)Sorry I wasn't able to oblige!
OP brazilii 8 | 97 16 Jul 2008 / #6I'd like to ask the brazilians out there who lived or live in Poland,I know. That's why I was after brazilian people living in Poland:)) Thanks anyway.
Lebre - | 4 20 Sep 2008 / #7You're living in London, so you should know how life looks in Europe. In Poland it's generally the same. Really :)You have winters here, more or less cold. About Brasil - living near the equator means that the rhytm of your life isn't so affected by the seasons of the year. Out here it's a bigger deal. The crime rate is much lower. You'd also have to get familiar with all this sarcasm and irony that Poles throw around. And about the people - it depends, as everywhere. I can't say anything about them, because every society, including Polish is diversed. People are different from each other.
WooPee 1 | 124 25 Dec 2008 / #8Hundreds of thousands of Poles have chosen Brazil for their new home. There must be something common in both. ;)
Przemas 1 | 101 25 Dec 2008 / #9Only similarity I can see is that we are both Football giants in a World of peasantry and decadence.
Seanus 15 | 19,672 25 Dec 2008 / #10Football giant, Poland? LOLEven lower than Scotland, fifa.com/worldfootball/ranking/lastranking/gender=m/fullranking.htmlEven Egypt are 18 places above you
WooPee 1 | 124 25 Dec 2008 / #11Seanus, today is not time of peasantry and decadence :].Just look 2-3 decades back....en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1982_FIFA_World_Cupen.wikipedia.org/wiki/1974_FIFA_World_Cup
Seanus 15 | 19,672 25 Dec 2008 / #12I'm aware of Polish football history. Boniek was a player I really admired when I was younger.Besides, those FIFA rankings are a bit askew. Ukraine 18 places above Scotland, that's just a joke.Anyway, Brasil would be nice to visit. I know a couple of Polish guys who have been there and were impressed.
Przemas 1 | 101 25 Dec 2008 / #13This place seriously needs a sarcasm emoticon of some sorts, if only for my bewildered sense of humor.
