I have a really urgent enquiry,

I lost all my debit cards a few weeks ago and am in dire need of cash, I have plenty of money in one of my UK accounts but they won't send it via western union as western union don't have an IBAN and a transfer to my Polish account would take days,

Does anyone have any suggestions as its really urgent,

Thanks in advance.

send it by moneygramme...its instant.....Someone pays the dosh in at an office in the UK..they send you the code number by text , and you can draw the money at any moneygramme office in Poland....You will need your passport as proof of identity....

I'll speak to my bank as it will be them sending it from my account, They seem very reluctant to use any of these money transfer agents for some reason, They asked me for the IBAN for western union and wouldn't believe me when i explained western union don't have an IBAN, its getting ridiculous now.

A transfer to your polish account will take 2 days using chaps transfer. In most cases, if they process the transfer in the morning, u get the cash in your polish account the next day.

That is assuming your bank will actually accept to do that for you.

If they don't, my best advice is hop on a plane and go sort yourself out back where u come from.

Because they wont make any money on them that's why.
Don't you have anyone in the UK who is looking after your bank account?
If so just ask them to transfer some through the system that wildrover said, it is quite a good service and according to their site supports the IBAN system.

I'll make some enquiries, I have just spoken to them and apparently regulations on money laundering prevent me from transferring the cash overseas and they asked me to pop into my local branch to authorise the transaction, I officially hate Uk banks, Homeless in Poland and no way of accessing my money, Great!

I doubt this is true. You can transfer money overseas using online banking or via a simple phone call if u've registered for phone banking.

I do this with citibank all the time. Although I must say I absolutely hate their Indian based call centers.

Which bank are you with?

Well I guess you first need new debit cards then to withdraw money? Most banks have special emergency phone numbers for this sort of cases. Take a look at the website of your bank.

Well I guess if he survived the weekend in that harsh and unforgiving polish urban wilderness, he will be just fine by now :-)
