My Views Of Poles Working in the UK

I once, as a joke, said to a man in a Polish pub I was Jewish, not only was he indignant, he threatened to shoot me. A wonderful example of Polish multi-culturalism. I hope Poland practices what it preaches when the Indian and Chinese workers go there to build the new stadiums. Time will tell.

I think Poles are great! But I believe that there is a growing dislike towards Poles in the UK and I'd like to tell you why. Since 2004 well over 2 million Poles have arrived in the UK. There seems to a press-induced agenda that suggests that Poles are contribution to the economy - which those people cleverer than us have calculated to be 58p per month (or something like that). Ok, this IS a contribution but does not take into account the the rise of expenditure to accommodate this new influx. Schooling, language training, Health (I read one post lamenting how so many Polish women are having abortions [who pays?]. This 58 pence would probably cover homeless Poles in London. Poles are lucky. You have a home - and you can return to this home when Cash Cow UK is dry. Britain is now the 'home' of the world. Let's be honest and face facts. Britain is a dumping ground for those who see Britain as a money making machine. 'Poland is a poor country...' - and what has this to do with native British peope? 'Britain is a rich country...' - so does this mean we have to give it away to poorer people? Apparently so. Myself and many others see this as quite simply shocking. I hate my town now. I will never go back there and unlike many of our new citizens, I remember what it was like 10 years ago when even a taxi driver could speak English. It is FULL of foreigners on the take. Britain for decades has been accepting of foreigners but enough is enough. The populations(s) of Britain were never consulted if they wanted 25% of their town to be eastern-European. If they were asked, we know what the answer would be. Imagine living in Opole and all of a sudden, 25, 000 English, Welsh and Scottish people descended on the town. Imagine the Poles reaction if Poles lost their jobs because a Brit would work for less? Then imagine Brits concluded Poles therefore must be lazy? I'm sure resentment would be fermenting. I cannot help that many Poles seem to think the UK is their 'right'. I have even seen a book in Poland 'Your English Dream'. Britain is full! We cannot manage with this influx. We had enough problems pre 2004 without this European Union idea to flood the UK and dump poor (those wanting more) people here from the new member states so they can buy a BMW to drive in Jaroslaw. Portugal was a poor country and when they joined I never saw/met ANY in the UK then. It is very important for people to have a home. Poland has one. We all know how the returning Jews to Poland after the war were encouraged to leave - Poland for the Poles. Look, I'm not advocating Britain being free of immigrants. I love a curry - I love pierogi...but enough is enough. I meet so many Poles who are always criticising Britain. We never helped during the War (despite cemeteries the size of some Polish towns full of dead Brits [etc.]) We saved Britain in the Battle of Britain (surely the silliest historical comment one could ever make) The British are lazy....and many many more. Ok. I look forward to the day when Poles make Poland great and stop playing the victim. If it wasn't for Churchill there would be no Poland (Poles call this a betrayal). Britain is a small island and we're full. The biggest worry is the tremendous sense of ingratitude showed by many of the new immigrants. To conclude, if you want to know why most of us are angry (I don't care what the PC press says) it is when you read threads like on this forum - "I have worked in Britain for one year - do I get a UK pension?" Let's see a less taking and one-way expectation and a little more empathy with your hosts. This includes learning how to queue and stop saying k*rwa when you have to wait at the bank in order to send UK money back to Poland. I'm sure some of you will think I am a racist - I'm not. I am just being honest. The European Union want Britain finished - it's working. I hope the intelligent Brits left will unite and stop this nonsense.

Where did you get this 58p from? Do you have any sources? How do you know this 58p doesn't balance loss and gain to the economy? What happens if I find that 5 złoty coin I think might have slipped down the back of the sofa? Why does Coco Pops turn the milk brown? Where have all the flowers gone? How long is a piece of string?

Its a shame,a lot of what the op is saying is plain commen sense.I say shame because he is wittingly or unwittingly making himself a bed fellow of all the idiots that come on here like no immi that just seem to mouth off for the sake of mouthing off(hypocrasy alert;) ). Can we reverse things a little and say that all the British people who went to Germany in the 80s were just there to milk the DM cash cow? Or what about the fact of all the British people that retired to France,never having lived or worked there and then came up in arms over the fact they dont qualify for all the freebies they used too. I see two choises,neither of them good or realistic,either close all borders,ethnically cleanse and deport in an Idi amin stylee or open all the borders and have a true United states of Europe.....the only other alternative is to jump in a nice time machine where cricket is played on the village greeen and Britannia ruled the waves....

Britain has simply got to get used to the reality of life in the 21st century and that's that. Maybe they can introduce immigration quotas and visas to control the flow of migration to certain sectors but ******** and whingeing about 'foreigners stealing our jobs' and threatening to vote for the BNP will not do no one no good. I notice I have been, in a gentlemanly way, reminded that concluding UK immigration as 'nonsense'I assume is being construed as being inflammatory. 2 million Poles in 4 years is nonsensical. Even Polish people say so. Immigration is de facto the biggest concern of British citizens and not, as some papers suggest, the next series of Big Brother. Health, education, law and order, taxation, pensions, lending rates, house prices, Tescos taking over the world, the rubbish they put on TV nowadays, that new car that apparently looks quite good, will there be enough milk in the fridge for another round of tea, global warming, football, religion, the fragility of life itself, the awesome power of the human mind, maybe even immigration...

The OPs post speaks of Britain this, and Britain that. The picture in Scotland is the opposite of Britain as a whole. Should the term "England" not be used instead ? The two terms seem interchangeable in other threads.

Thing is commensense,give some credit to people,are you telling me you wouldnt get the same reaction in certain british hostilries if you said you were gay or muslim? As to indian and chinese...dont know about them but there are plenty of Ukranians and others in PL already,do you see endless bi**hing and moaning in the Polish press about them as you do over here? Be honest now,if you didnt read the daily hate every daywould you really be that affected by Polish people? You say 25% of your town is now eastern european...OK,that seems,well,frankly BS,where do they all live? if there were 25% of the housing in your town empty prior to 2004 why on earth has there been a housing shortage in the UK for about a decade now?

Your term 'underclass' is rather derogatory. Working people are the salt of any country. Poland is almost totally made up of working classes whose need to earn a living is paramount - even at the expense of Brits. Maybe the people of the UK should have said the same in the early 1980's when Poland's 'underclass' were striking in Gdansk and wanted the world to help and acknowledge them. I assume Solidarity is confined to history and any kind of solidarity in defence of their jobs and futures by Britain's 'underclass' is racism against those who create the need for solidarity in the first place.

Arrogant? NO, just a normal half-educated Englishman. I do agree that England is not Scotland. Scottish people are so stupid they believe England have oppressed them since they left their caves. England and Scotland was united by a Scottish King. In respect to the great 'oppression' of the British Empire [so oppressive we have the commonwealth], it was Scotland that made the most financially and economically. Now, Scotland depends totally on England. Like Wales, if you get independence - you'll fail. But Brave Heart watching imbeciles don't understand this. It is as foolish as the Catholic Church supporting Hitler in the 1930's. Anyway, We are all in 'Europe' so we are all one big happy family..ho ho ho. Call this arrogant, but I long for the day when the people of ENGLAND unite (sound's a bit Brave Heart-ish) and get our country back. Before Polish people criticise my honesty about MY own country, remember YOUR history. If you advocate large percentage of foreigners in your country (which you don't) why are there no Jews in Poland anymore? Why is there racist graffitti everywhere. Why have you a large growing 1960's style skinhead culture? Why are the no black or Asian people? Ok - there are two in Warsaw. Thousands of Jews returned in 1945, many were driven away and murdered and those that were stupid enough to stay were expelled in 1968. well i reckon that we should just give this little island up, (uk) to all those who think it is great and worth raping of its much sought after wealth and prosperity and just live elsewhere, let them all flood in from all over the world and see how they manage without our health service our goverment handouts etc etc lets just do a moonlight flit and c what becomes of it all. how long would it be before they all leave again months years

Christ you Scots are soooooo stupid. Why do you want/need independence?
