O Jee this whole looks like US was simply trying to stop me to live
the country to Canada to draft me to US army.

You were trying to illegally enter a country that didn't want you (with very good reason considering your attitude toward visas).

So they returned you to the country you were trying to enter from. You had no legal right to be in that country so you were deported.

Again, I'm sure it wasn't pleasant for you but it seems both Canada and the US were completely in the right.

Where on earth did you get that idea? The US has every right to question you on your citizenship whilst you are in our country.....

I'm sorry, but a PhD doesn't trump the VISA regulations. I also have a high level qualification but I play ball as I know the consequences. Haven't u heard that most Poles need to go through an interview process in order to gain entry into the US? Sorry mate, I've never heard of the PhD exemption clause.

Reminds me of stupid criminals, like drug trafficers, who are pulled over for speeding or ignoring a traffic signal, and found to have 50 kilos in the trunk of the car.....,pure genius, I say!

I have read Your article and feel very sorry for You went thru. As for corrections: Visa Waiver Program goes into effect as of March 1, 2008.(Unfortunatley not every customs agent is aware of it!!)for Polish nationals or people who holds a Polish passport upon entring Canada. As per US Immigration Laws You have overstayed Your visa. DHS is enforcing the immigration law, in ordre to crack down on illigal migrants mainly mexican, so that's way this harsh treatment from DHS officers.

Since You hold german passport You may use it to re-enter US again, and try to solve You problem from inside country.

You cannot use your german passport to re-enter this country legally within 3 years. They have all your information on the tiny computer chips inserted in your passport. Once they run through it on the computer at the port of entry, you will be detained again. A PhD is no longer very important to this country given the dire economic situation. It has quite a number of unemployed PHDs. A businessman or woman with $1 million to invest is welcomed with open arms and
almost instant immigration status.

Next time when you travel, you should carry your german passport. It'll be a lot easier. It's from an allied and economically well off country. The treatment you
receive will be substantially different. (Welcome to this cold harsh world! )
Should the same thing happen to you in the future, you should try to leave through
mexican border.They are more friendly, flexible and understanding.
