I want to move to Poland from North America, I'm 19. Please read.

I'd like to move to Poland from North America.

I really have no idea where I should start- I am 19 years old and have a GED.

I have been working in the construction (plumbing) field for quiet a while now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as google has failed me.

It would help if you spoke Polish and had a degree. They like to see degrees in your CV. I don't think experience flies like it does here in the states. Good luck to you though.

But where do I actually start? Do I get a passport, a Visa, what do I do?

Passport is your first option to go anywhere really.

Being from North America you can come for 90 days without a visa, but I'd imagine if you'd want to stay for any longer you would have to demonstrate why you would be of benefit (degree, teaching qualification etc etc) and then apply for a visa.

Thanks pubben, and no i'm not Miranda.

It's actually weird, to live a certain spot in the world you have to have a degree in something.

I'm tired of north america.

can't that just be my excuse? :/

so you need to contact the Polish consulate and find out what the procedure is.

You can also leave and stay there up to 90 days without problems on tourist visa. You need some savings to take with you for a start. Possible tutor English if you can.

In Poland you do because if you were doing what you are doing in the US you would probably be much poorer. It is a fact. I gather you don't know Polish either.

reason yes, but not an excuse.
Getting a passport would be a good idea regardless whether you gonna end in Poland or not. Maybe going on a short trip will clear you head a bit, so you can make a plan.

Hello Moderation,
And welcome to the Polish Forum.
Get a passport, lie about having a degree and get a job teaching to start yourself off. Teaching English will pay better than plumbing and if you do not speak Polish will certainly be easier. Do a TEFL course, that useed to be enough but there are other courses that you can do, even some on line. And learn Polish.
