Well, think again. Read this story.

Icelandic woman arrested at JFK for overstaying U.S. visa more than a decade earlier


The article also claims that the woman was put in a cell with her feet and hand shackled to the ground. She also was not allowed to use the phone to call relatives.

I should add this that this treatment is "over the top". Could be understood if she was actually wanted for a crime (other than overstaying her "welcome").

Iceland a part of the axis of evil, perhaps.

It makes you wonder what kind of person decides that shackling someone like this by their hand and feet is an appropriate thing to do. It also makes me wonder about karma. Does someone who ill-treats someone like this have such a petty existence they feel the need to hurt others. The fact that it seems to be part of a system only makes it worse. Just obeying orders eh?

I've already been put off going to the US because of something someone said last night about prices not including tax, so it won't make any difference to me personally.

my friend had to leave school in US
to go back to PL to reenter is this true
