Don't buy a house in Poland if you are British!!! Corruption!!!

The Polish Government three years after we purchased our house are trying to undo the transaction - Its rent seeking racism against British and corruption at the highest level.

There are 1 million polish people in London able to buy sell and invest in property and investments.

However when a British Person Tries to invest the Government try and extract bribes and use whatever means possible to disrupt the transaction.

1. First they claim our land is agricultural - its within walking distance of the Wroclaw Rynek
2. They claim that british people can't buy houses - Hello - Yes they can
3; Now they are even trying to steal house from my polish Wife.

Dont invest - Especially if you are British!!!!!!!!!

In short: only for business purposes or when they bring something to the community.

Why do you think everyone else has been buying flats.

Where ? There are no, single, houses that I know of within walking distance of Rynek.

Hay there i can understand your anger at been ripped off or even the corruption part, however you can't make sweeping statements about a country or a government like that.

Whatever has happened in your case i'm sure it is not the same for everybody who tries to invest in property in Poland, while i think your wrong to brand them like this i do have sympathy with your case

if your wife is a Polish, i cannot see how they can take it off her, as a polish person she is allowed to buy property where she wants, as long as its in her name.

You prefer that Poland's economy stays poor and Poles have to work for low wages, do you?

I think someone was referring to investment in the country, it's all inter related.

Poland is part of the EU now, has its advantages and disadvantages. Lots of Foreign investment in the UK too.

Property, stock market etc.

Dod you know, not sure of the exact percentage but think it's something like......42% of shares etc in the uk are owned by foreign onvestors......and don't get me started on the utility companies. Things change.........Poland will be next !!

To explain it another way, tell foreigners not to buy Polish goods at all. Why sell Polish food to distributors who are going to make money on it when they resell it?

BTW, welcome to capitalism.

The land you bought must have had a use described for it before you bought it. If it was described and bought as agricultural land then the local government have every right to tell you what they have already said.

The fact is that land can only be built on with the express permission of the local planning authority and if they don't give that planning, then it will never happen.

As for not being able to buy apartments or houses becasue you are British - That is a nonsense statement and no special requirements exits so it is completely free for Brits to buy in Poland.

It's probably more here. I am obviously not against foreign investments in general but obviously there's a difference between a company, which build a factory here - give jobs and pay taxes or investors on the stock market, who give capital to our companies and some guy, who "invest" here the way that he buy some land or a flat only to sell It for more in the future. What is he contibuting here ? Nothing. Only makes prices higher. Yes we are in EU, we get some money, can work in some countries etc. and I understand that the other side wants to get something too but don't tell me that It should make me happy or that It does something good for me because It simply doesn't.

Me either G, but thats life, the average young British couple (first time buyers) cannot aford to buy a house these days, so it's not only Poland that is affected by it and there is absolutly nothing we can do about it.

That's why some british people are now buying houses in Poland, as an investment so as to raise capital for future investments in England.

Basically the only way for some of us English people to buy property in our own country is to exploit lesser economies such as Poland.

But Poland knew all this when it joined the EU but it still wanted to join.

This is why polish are coming to your country because they can not afford to buy home in their own country. It doesnt make good for you and us. If you dont want polish in your country sell all properties. Otherwise polish people will start new lifes in England pushing price of all things including homes even more. So it is closed circle as you see. We take your homes and jobs and you take only our homes. Polish wins it.

Ola, your making poland sound bad.. and you know it isnt true.. the govts seem
to be the problem..

everyone does deserve to live where they want, if they have the money.. and I dont
think people should be told that this is agricultural land so you have to use it as such
that is still a form of communism if you ask me.. if I buy property, its mine, not the
govts.. if they have other plans, this should have been pointed out in the beginning
of purchase.. and someone else who is willing to cultivate the land for this purpose
could have bought it..

if this was already built on, and is a former home of a family member, and was given
/willed to me, then its mine, govt or no govt, they dont have a right to tell you that
you bring nothing to the community.. working in the same community should be
enough.. paying taxes in the same community, someone * lawyer perhaps*
needs to look into why this is happening instead of doing nothing.. Ill be d*m if someone would come along and rip from under me my home and comfort.. better
be ready to fightl.. hard core....

Ola123, I would imagine it's a very small proportion of Polish (at the moment) that would be able to aford to buy properties, because when I say young couples that cant aford, Im talking about a couple who have a combined income of circa. £50,000, when you wiegh up the average price of a house at £250,000 even they struggle..

But my friend (polish) along with her boyfriend have already bought land in Poland with the money they have been saving whilst in the UK, so ola123 its not the English pushing up the prices, it's still foreign money thats being invested.

Well I know many polish people who chose new life in England and are able to buy a propery in their new country not for cash but they take credits. Its free market after all. And why do you think polish cant earn 50k? Are you racist? There are many polish out there with very good jobs who earn really good bucks. Indeed maybe some polish buy land back in Poland, but only 20% of 2 millions declared taht they are coming back to the country. Easy calculations and you have 1,4 millions of new people in England who are buying or bought already flats/homes. If young Ples wont be able still to afford home or find a good job in Poland I can see another 2 millions in England and so on.

Excellent points.. thats why the rank and file polish citizen wants a end to all these speculators in Poland and the result means for all those non poles its time to go home and rape your own country.
Poles were brainwashed in joining the EU, most intelligent poles didn't want anything to do with it!

Its not going to be funny for english investors who tried to invest all their funds in Polish property marked. They will be kicked out and land on their arses on bomb in London.
