can u give me any idea about how much does it cost to rent a real estate for Pub business at central katowice,krakow,warsaw....the size will be about 100 m2 or little smaller....in krakow and warsaw not so far from Old town region but not exactly in old town I think it will be impossible for me to afford it....and how about katowice center..?I m interested in Katowice more,I think it will be cheaper...

Warsaw is the most expensive, then Krakow, the cheapest Katowice. You mentioned "central" - that would drive up the cost too. Don't know exact prices, but an accurate estimate would be that the prices in Warsaw/Krakow are about the same as in a US city (compare Warsaw to Chicago and Krakow to Atlanta). Katowice - 30% less.

Regarding prices, a very good location in Warsaw could cost you $80 per square meter (so $8,000 per 100 m) per month. But you need note a place for a pub must follow specific and strict rules so in order to make it work you'd have to spend some money too.

I intend to Open a pub in Poland and would be grateful if anyone who has experience in this could contact me. I need to research, licensing and who are the best wholesalers for beer wines and spirits. I know there are differences in the licencing for beers_Wines and spirits. I intend also to serve food, maybe some contacts in the pub fixtures and furnishings and of course a good shop fitting company.

Look forward to hearing from anyone who can help.

Thanks
Marcus

open up in Warsaw, we could do with a few new options for evening drinks, and please install a good ventilation system so it's not too smoky.

and what did your research suggest?

there are a number of pubs/bars/discos advertised on allegro at this very moment that will tell you exactly how much it costs to buy then then rent them

I've been interested in opening a pub in Warsaw for a long time. I think it still lacks a good British style Gastropub and take the emphasis off the 'sports bar' theme, that concept seems to have been done to death! Financially am not in a position to do it on my own but I do have good contacts in the trade in Warsaw and may also have a part investor. If anyone is interested in 'joining forces' or at least to discuss this as an idea. Please feel free to PM me

The first part I agree with but the second part is just wrong. Both the places (Bar Below and Bradleys) which have the big dishes needed to pick up BBC are always packed for things like Six Nations games and England football matches. Sometimes they are too packed, last year during the rugby world cup there was a semi-final at the same time as an Ireland soccer game and a Poland soccer game. It was impossible to get anywhere near the bar in either place and in both places a couple of fights nearly broke out when people had their view of the screen blocked by later arrivals.

Yes I would agree, we desperately need a new venue with good food and a pub atmosphere. Where would you locate it though as Warsaw has no ideal central location….?

As to Bradley’s and Bar Below, could you possible have designed two worse bars? In the summer Bar Below is unbearable with the heat , I wish they had stuck the bar up top and the restaurant below and then it might be a decent bar that can hold more than 15 people.

Bradley’s well where do you start – last week I ordered the bacon sandwich and was served a burger bun with a slice of bread wedged in it and one small piece of bacon, more like a bread sandwich. Their breakfast seems about the only decent dish they serve these days. The layout is crap for watching sport and what’s he going to do when that skyscraper they’re building next to it blocks his satellite signal?

The six nations is on Canal + this year, it’s great to watch it and not have to visit these dives.

Just out of interest Harry, how many free drinks to you get from these places to plug them each week ….?

This is not really a debate about whether Bradleys and Bar Below are crap or not, both of them serve a purpose and are still open (that's always a good thing) but I do think there is room for a real pub. I think Harry probably get 2 free pints a week and his bill keeps these places going :>)

I may be interested in this type of venture, subject to it's profile, location and setup costs.

All the best

Alex
