Just wondering... do most guys prefer an independent female? I'm referring to a woman who is in the habit of making her own decisions and taking care of herself? Or do you prefer a dummy, who is continuously codependent on you or others in order to exist?

A sincere thanks PF, for putting up with me FIVE terrific years, muah!

I think somewhere in the middle. I want to feel that I am needed but at the same time I don't want her to be helpless like a lost sheep without me.

That's good to hear smooth jazz. Surprisingly many men I know like having a woman who is braindead. I suppose this may because he prefers being in control of the relationship.

I'm glad you guys feel that way. An ex-boyfriend told me he'd take care of me and pay my way through college, if I were to move in with him. I told him HELL NO!
I'm very independent and have my pride. I enjoy the satisfaction I receive by earning things on my own.

I prefer independent and smart type (like Krysia, for example). Someone who can sometimes be a man in bed too ;).

Yes, but seriously - I don't know what fun it is just to be with a dumb woman (even pretty one).

It seems like some guys are attracted to a woman solely because of her good looks. They may want a trophy, in order to show her off to others. In actuality their trophy may be dumb as dirt.

I like this answer, because I think, in truth, while I like to dominate a lot of decisions in my relationship I also like to be 'looked after' does this make sense??? :-)

Hi PD. Yes it does make good sense to be somewhere in the middle. In a relationship things should be done in a partnership aspect, as opposed to some that are more like a dictatorship.

Totally true becks.

I want a guy with personality. If his looks compliment his personality then I have hit jackpot!!! :-)

I'd prefer a smart woman who can take care of herself, but one who doesn't go overboard. I've dated some ultra independent women who try too hard to show the world that they can do things as good or better than men. It turns into too much of a competition than a relationship. I'd like to find someone who is smart and capable, but also someone whom I can grow with and be able to compromise with. I'm leaning toward a more easy-going girl now. As far a looks...there's some give and take there. Obviously, there has to be some mutual attraciton but there isn't anything specific I look for...although, I have a thing for redheads :)

That's my two cents...

I can relate. I dated a guy who wanted me to marry him and stay home and cook while he worked. I couldn't just throw my life away like that.

Welcome back Bdog. I've got another corny statistician joke for you:

What's the difference between a statistician and a mortician?
No one's dying to see a statistician!

I agree, its nice to know that someone is there if you need them in times of stress etc., but it works both ways.
